Our practice philosophy, simply stated, is to care for your pet as if it was our own.
Our Purpose is: To practice high quality medicine and to efficiently and fairly service our patients and clients.
Our Motto is: We take care of pets and their people!
We look forward to sharing our purpose and motto with you and your pets.

We are proud to take an active part in our community!
At Westchase Veterinary, we understand the need for partnerships between rescue organizations and veterinary hospitals. That is why we have partnered with four groups in our area: Bay Area Greyhounds, St Francis Society Animal Rescue, and Lost Angels Rescue. All of these groups are non-profit, charitable organizations run by volunteers that strive to provide medical care and homes for animals in need.

In 2004 Westchase Veterinary Center and Emergency first opened their doors to the Westchase and surrounding communities. Originally located on the corner of Racetrack and Countryway in Westchase, we saw our first patient before our exam room even had doors. Our Doctors had been working in the field for over 14 years when the clinic opened, and they were ready to start practicing high quality medicine, efficiently, compassionately, and fairly. Our motto then and for always has been to take care of both pets and their people.

After a few years, we outgrew our small office and moved to our current, larger location at Linebaugh and Countryway in July 2006. As we continued to grow, renovations took place again in 2011. At that time we went up, adding doctors’ offices on our second floor so that we could utilize what had formally been the office as a digital radiology/ultrasound suite.

Westchase Veterinary is home to six outstanding veterinarians, each bringing something special to the Westchase area. Our mission is to provide our clients with the most state of the art veterinary medicine available. Our medical director is Dr. Tamara Berlin. Our associate veterinarians are Dr. Nichole Reyes, board certified surgeon, Dr. Colby Burns, Dr. Molly Barr.

As these doctors joined our team, we were able to extend our hours to Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Saturdays 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Sundays 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.. Dr. Colby Burns’ addition as a board certified surgeon has allowed us to offer our clients orthopedic, advanced orthopedic, and advanced soft tissue surgery. Our clients can now have these procedures done here at Westchase, where we know their pets best, rather than being sent out for a referral at a specialty clinic. The most recent addition to our clinic is Dr. Molly Barr. Her addition allows us to have another veterinarian available to be able to see and treat your furry friends.

My name is Dr. Nichole Reyes, I am originally from California but grew up in the Pinellas area. I attended Florida State University where I received my Bachelors of Science in Exercise Physiology. I went on to graduate with Honors from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine. My love of water and sunshine promoted my return to Florida and join the Westchase Veterinary team. I believe in taking a compassionate approach to veterinary medicine, and will take the time to develop a treatment best suited for both you and your pets needs. I currently live in Tampa with my two dogs, Hank and Maddie.

Dr. Barr is a 2009 graduate of Ross University. Her goal is to become a productive member in the community and that has helped shape her as a person growing up. Dr. Barr's interest in pursuing veterinary medicine began while working at the University of Connecticut State Diagnostics Laboratory during undergraduate studies. It was this job along with classes in her major (Pathobiology), which sparked Dr. Barr's interest in the study of disease process, medicine and anatomy of domestic animals. She is the type of person that always wants to know how and why a disease causes illness and therefore what direction she should take to prevent or treat it. Veterinary school was the key to fulfilling her inquisitive nature.
