R. Shawn Wilkins, DVM, DVM

Medical Director
School: Texas A&M University

Following graduation from Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1989, Dr. Wilkins worked in a mixed animal and exotic practice in the Greenspoint area for four years. He then worked briefly at VCA Countryside Animal Hospital before becoming an Associate Veterinarian at VCA Woodlands Animal Hospital. In 2002, Dr. Wilkins assumed the role of Medical Director of VCA Woodlands Animal Hospital.

Dr. Wilkins is happily married to his wife and together they home educate their two children. On his day off, Dr. Wilkins enjoys teaching science to their children and a few other home schoolers.

The Wilkins are active members of their church in The Woodlands. Dr. Wilkins and his wife teach their dauther's Sunday School class and Dr. Wilkins serves as small group leader in his son's Youth Group.

Dr. Wilkins is an Eagle Scout and is currently the Scout Master of a Boy Scout Troop in The Woodlands. He enjoys spending time with his family, travelling, and outdoor activites including fly fishing, golfing, camping, backpacking, and playing disc golf.

Mike Nicolosi, DVM, DVM

Associate Veterinarian
School: Texas A&M University

Dr. Nicolosi (also known as "Dr. Nic") has been working in veterinary clinics since high school. Following graduation from Texas A&M in 1984, he has practiced in the Houston and Conroe area. He worked for several years as a relief veterinarian, travelling to practices in Harris, Montgomery and surrounding counties. A resident of The Woodlands since 1985, he has been with VCA since 2004. Dr. Nicolosi and his wife, Linda, live in The Woodlands and are active in their congregation at Lord of Life Lutheran Church. Their children are in college, Daniel at Texas A&M and Catherine at Tulane. Dr. Nicolosi enjoys playing guitar, visiting with friends, and learning about wines and fine food.

Kimiko Dixon, DVM
Kimiko Dixon, DVM

Dr. Dixon joined our team after graduating from Louisiana State University. Born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana, she was reared by her maternal Grandparents. Dr. Dixon received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from LaGrange College in LaGrange, GA. She has experience in both shelter and private practice medicine and has a special interest in zoonotic diseases. Accompanying her to Texas are her four-legged kids, Lady (a spirited American Eskimo) and Leo (an adorable Terrier mix). Dr. Dixon enjoys music of all types, as well as dancing and her favorite sport, American football. Dr. Dixon is a proud former Tiger but says that her soul will forever be Black and Gold. Geaux Saints!
