Veterinary School: Colorado State University
Dr. Farber has been associated with the VCA West Los Angeles Animal Hospital since 1997. Prior to that, Dr. Farber owned two veterinary hospitals, one in West Los Angeles and the other in Santa Monica, for over 25 years. In 2001, he merged his practices together with Veterinary Centers of America and became one of the first members of the VCA family.
In addition to practicing general veterinary medicine and surgery, Dr. Farber has specialized for many years in alternative medicine, such as acupuncture, chiropractic, homeopathy, herbs, and nutraceutical medicine. He has taken certification programs in veterinary acupuncture, chiropractic, and herbal medicine. Dr. Farber furthered his study by attending a human acupuncture college, Emperor’s College of Oriental Medicine, from 1987 to 1990. Dr. Farber also specializes in and has had extensive training in the care, medicine, and surgery of exotic pets (birds, reptiles, small mammals such as rabbits, rats, guinea pigs, and ferrets).
In addition to practicing at the VCA West Los Angeles Animal Hospital, Dr. Farber also practices in Palm Desert, Ca. at the VCA Valley Animal Medical and Emergency Hospital. Dr. Farber has traveled throughout the world, lecturing and working on a multitude of veterinary projects, particularly in third world areas.
Dr. Farber’s animal family includes two horses (which he rides and has shown), a 17 year old pot bellied pig named Elway, two dogs, an amazon parrot, a cat and a variety of other creatures which he helps feed and care for.
Dr. Farber has appointments available at the VCA West Los Angeles Animal hospital Tuesday through Thursday, and is available in Palm Desert at the VCA Valley Animal Medical Center Friday and Saturday.
Veterinary School: Oklahoma State University
Graduate School: Doctor of Veterinary Medicine
Dr. Fogel graduated in 1996 from Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts with a degree in psychology. After a few years hiatus training polo ponies, she attended Oklahoma State University College of Veterinary Medicine and graduated in 2004. She worked as an equine veterinarian for a year before transitioning into small animal general practice here in the Coachella Valley. For the last few years, she has been enjoying the exciting world of emergency medicine.
When she is not working, Dr. Fogel can be found riding horses (she has a special fondness for polo ponies and hunter-jumpers), hiking, competing in American Kennel Club agility trials with her three Australian Shepherds, and trying to clicker train her 11 month old daughter (and, less successfully, her husband).

Graduate School: Colorado State
Dr. Jeremy Trousdale completed his undergraduate Biology degree in 1998 at Adams State College in Colorado. He furthered his studies and improved his bid for veterinary school by completing a Master’s Degree in Anatomy at Colorado State University, strongly influencing his strong interest in surgery. Dr. Trousdale received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Ross University in 2007, for which the clinical year of training was again spent at Colorado State University.
After receiving his DVM, he traveled to Phoenix, where he completed a Rotating Internship in Small Animal Medicine at Sonora Veterinary Specialists, again strengthening the draw toward surgical specialization. He returned to Colorado yet again for a Surgical Intern position with Aspen Meadows Veterinary Specialists. He recently completed his Surgical Residency with VCA All Care Animal Referral Center in Fountain Valley, CA.
As a surgeon, Dr. Trousdale has many interests in soft tissue and orthopedic procedures, but does take special interest in wound management and reconstructive surgeries.
Dr. Trousdale enjoys spending his free time with his family and looks forward to having the opportunity to refresh his interests in outdoor activities and physical fitness.
