We have been serving pets and their people in the communities of Harwich, Chatham, Brewster, Dennis, Orleans, as well as other areas of the lower cape, since 1975. Our Animal Hospital is a full service veterinary hospital, that provides top quality medical services, grooming and bathing, wellness exams, preventative care, vaccines, diagnostic services, spays, neuters, dental procedures, digital radiography including dental radiography, and advanced surgical orthopedic services.

James Coleman, DVM, Medical Director
James Coleman, DVM, Medical Director

Dr. Coleman graduated from Michigan State University in 1974. He spent two years in the Air Force as base veterinarian at Vandenberg. After leaving military service, he practiced in Vermont and Boston before coming to the Cape in 1983. His primary area of interest is surgery but also has an interest in oncology. In off hours he enjoys running. Dr. Coleman's pet population includes four cats, two dogs, one rabbit, three love birds and three aquariums.

Peter Watts, DVM, Associate Veterinarian
Peter Watts, DVM, Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Watts received his Master's degree in physiology from the University of Kansas and his DVM from Cornell University. He has practiced small animal clinical medicine since 1983 and has been here since 1992. Areas of particular interest include general internal medicine, urology, gastroenterology, endocrinology and dermatology. Dr. Watts is a USDA accredited veterinarian authorized to write small animal international health certificates. He owns a family of chocolate labs, Lizzie, Max and Molly, who are usually with him and enjoy coming to work every day.

Nancy Weintrob

VMD, Associate Veterinarian, University of Pennsylvania

Dr. Weintrob received dual degrees in chemistry and biology from Boston University, her VMD degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 1990. Prior to joining Pleasant Bay Animal Hospital in 2001, she practiced in the Boston area. Areas of interest lie in Internal Medicine. Dr. Weintrob is a USDA accredited veterinarian authorized to write small animal international health certificates. In her spare time she can be found on the beaches or in a potter's studio.

Stephen Baker DVM

Dr. Baker grew up in central Massachusetts and spent his childhood summers on the Cape. He obtained his undergraduate degree from the College of the Holy Cross. He then earned his veterinary degree from Ross University after completing his clinical year at Tufts Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine. His primary interests include preventative medicine, surgery, and dentistry. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with family, traveling, and reading a good book on the beach.
