Sarah Wilson, DVM
Sarah Wilson, DVM

Dr. Sarah Wilson graduated from Randolph-Macon Womans College with a BA in Art History in 2008. During her undergraduate studies she discovered her true life-passion working under the mentorship of a small animal veterinarian and with new found purpose, she enrolled in the University of North Carolina at Greensboro where she fulfilled all prerequisites to apply to veterinary school. Dr. Wilson was accepted into North Carolina State Universitys College of Veterinary Medicine and graduated with her DVM in 2016. Following graduation, Dr. Wilson completed a rigorous one-year small animal rotating internship at VCA West Los Angeles Animal Hospital where she further developed her interest in emergency medicine and the management of critically ill patients.

In her free time, Dr. Wilson enjoys spending time training for marathons and camping with her two puppy sidekicks, Mea and Bella. She hopes to soon return to the world of equestrian sport and revive her lifelong passion for competitive show jumping.

Why I do what I do
Unlike many of my peers, I wasnt bitten by the veterinarian bug at a young age. Although I had grown up with a menagerie of critters including cats, hamsters, an array of birds and even the occasional hermit crab, it wasnt until my junior year of college that I stumbled into the field of veterinary medicine. Following a series of serendipitous encounters involving a very special horse and an incredible veterinarian, I found myself completely enchanted by the profession and I knew without a doubt that I had discovered my lifes passion.

The best part of my job is having the opportunity to foster the human-animal bond. I believe whole-heartedly that the unconditional love of animals brings out the best in us and I am profoundly grateful and humbled to share that experience with my clients and patients on a daily basis.
