Dr. Martha Hawksworth moved here from Chicago, IL where she completed an internship in small animal medicine and surgery. she originally hales from upstate New York and attended Veterinary school at Iowa State University. She graduated in 2006 and worked at a rural mixed animal practice in Warsaw, VA before moving to Chicago.
Dr. Hawksworth has had a longing for the atmosphere of beautiful Western Massachusetts where she looks forward to hiking with her two cattle dogs or riding her horse; a couple of three legged cats round out her furry family.
Her particular interests in veterinary medicine include internal medicine, holistic medicine, shelter work and public health.
Dr. Meyer grew up in Montreal and obtained a BA in English Literature from McGill University. She moved to Massachusetts in 1978 and attended UMASS where she studied Zoology and then went on to Tufts Vet School. After vet school she did an internship at MSPCA Hospital. She then was a staff Vet at Boston Road Animal Hospital. She joined the practice 20 years ago. She loves to dance, garden, swim and bike ride. She and her husband have an extraordinary (a mom's bias) 11 year old daughter from China.read more
Dr. Renee Slowick grew up in the area and began her veterinary career as a technician at our hospital in the late 1980's. After attending Tufts, she worked in 1995 at Boston Road Animal Hospital before joining the Montgomery Road family in 1996.
Renee loves spending time with her family and has 2 children. She volunteers at their school. Her interests include reading, playing with the kids, and volunteering in the community.
Dr. George Daniel is originally from the twin Island republic of Trinidad and Tobago in the Caribbean. He attended St. George’s University for both his bachelors and graduate veterinary degrees. In 2005 after completing 12 months of final year clinical training at Auburn University, Alabama; he moved north to beautiful New England.
Dr. Daniel worked in small animal practice for the next 3 years in Massachusetts. During that period he completed a 20 month stint at the Emergency & Referral Clinic at The VCA Boston Road Animal Hospital. He then moved back to the Caribbean from early 2008 to late 2009 to serve the government of Trinidad and Tobago as a veterinary officer in mixed animal practice.
Dr. Daniel has had substantial shelter medicine experience thus far in his young career, having worked closely with a number of not for profit animal shelters and organizations both in the Caribbean and the United States. After having completed the 27th European Course in Tropical Epidemiology in Heidelberg, Germany; George has had a renewed special interest in Public health, internal medicine and sauerkraut ;)
Laura Roman, DVM grew up in Rhode Island, with pet goats, sheep , dogs and cats. She received her BA from Bard College in Rhinbeck NY and attended Kansas State University CVM graduating in 2006. Dr. Roman practiced mixed animal medicine in Ann Arber, MI for 2 years before moving to MA last summer where she and her husband, Greg, are planning to set down some roots. Dr. Roman enjoys working on small animals but she also has a particular interest in small ruminant medicine. When not in the clinic she is hiking and camping with her husband and 2 mutts Auggie and Clover. She also enjoys reading books with her 2 cats Lilly and Dublin.read more
