Joanne Oscar
Joanne Oscar

Associate Veterinarian
DVM, Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine

Dr. Oscar did her undergraduate studies at Lehigh University where she got a B.S. in Biology. She obtained her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Ross University and completed her clinical year at the University of Minnesota. She moved to Massachusetts in 2004 when she started working at Hanson Animal Hospital (now VCA Hanson). She sees mostly dog and cats and the occasional rabbit or pocket pet.

Thomas Finney
Thomas Finney

Medical Director
DVM, Tufts University

Dr. Finney has been practicing veterinary medicine for over 20 years and is in his 14th year here at VCA Hanson Animal Hospital. Dr. Finney is happily married and the father of 3 children. He thoroughly enjoys teaching and outdoor activities.He has taught at a high school and junior high school at a christian summer camp for over 5 years. He also has coaching experience in soccer and softball and teaching experience in drama in his town and for the Boy and Girl Scouts of America. He is an avid hiker and camper. He enjoys performing small animal surgeries and has great experience in clinical medicine including oncology, microbiology, and exotic medicine.

Markeya Williams
Markeya Williams

Dr. Markeya Williams is a native of Northern New Jersey. In 2002, she completed here undergraduate studies in Animal & Poultry Sciences at Tuskegee University and 2006 obtained her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Tuskegee University School of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Williams spent the majority of her career in academia where she served as clinical veterinarian and surgical faculty. Dr. Williams is most passionate about exotic animal medicine, comparative anatomy, pain management, and soft tissue surgery. In her spare time, Dr. Williams enjoys travel and food writing as well as food photography

Valerie Whalen
Valerie Whalen

Dr. Valerie Whalen is originally from Massachusetts, then traveled up and down the east coast, graduating from the University of South Florida with a Bachelor's degree in chemistry and the University of Maryland with a Master's in chemistry before pursuing a veterinary career. She received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine at Virginia Tech in 2006. Dr. Whalen enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, and is especially interested in emergency and internal medicine. While not at work, Dr. Whalen enjoys spending time with her husband, twin boys, their Labrador Retriever, Winnie, and two cats, Beastie and Indiana.

Nicole Syngajewski
Nicole Syngajewski

Dr. Nicole Syngajewski is one of the newst additions to the Whitman and Hanson medical staff, and is an associate veterinarian. She graduated from UMASS Boston in 2006 with a BS in Biology, and from Ross University in 2014 with DVM. She completed her clinical year at the University of Illinois. Besides working with dogs and cats, she has a special interest in exotic pets, and plans to be working more with them in the near future here at Whitman. Dr. Syngajewski has an interest in pain management and oncology. She is enrolled at the Chi Institute for 2015, which teaches practices such as acupuncture. She hopes to implement acupuncture here at Whitman in the near future. She enjoys traveling, scuba diving, yoga and playing games with friends. She has a cat named Reese, and 2 rescue dogs, Kami and Liamuiga.
