Northern Virginia pet owners have benefited from the VCA Centreville Animal Hospital team’s knowledge of veterinary science, skill in healing pets, and overall compassion since 1971.

Awarded the highest level of accreditation from the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA), our veterinary team maintains high standards and utilizes our continuing education program to stay at the forefront of veterinary medicine. We encourage preventative as well as interventional care and provide accurate, timely, and useful medical information about the care of your pet.

Our team treats your pets as members of our own family. We take time to get to know their behaviors, personality, likes, and dislikes, to provide individualized veterinary care. Dr. Travis Taylor
Dr. Travis Taylor

Dr. Travis Taylor, a Northern Virginia native, became interested in veterinary medicine while growing up on a small family farm in Nokesville. In addition to taking care of animals on the farm, Dr. Taylor began his veterinary career as a teenager working at a local animal hospital.

After graduating from Virginia Tech, Dr. Taylor went on to receive his Doctorate degree from the Virginia Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine. His post graduate work was completed through the Perdue Veterinary Management Institute. In May, 2012, Dr. Taylor received his executive Masters in Business Administration from George Mason University.

Dr. Taylor joined Centreville Animal Hospital in 2003 and works as an Associate Veterinarian and Medical Director. Dr. Taylor has ensured that Centreville Animal Hospital continues to be a practice devoted to providing the best quality veterinary care to our community as well as dedicated to strengthening the human-animal bond.

Dr. Taylor is an active member of the Virginia Veterinary Medical Association (VVMA), American Association of Feline Practitioners (AAFP) and the Northern Virginia Veterinary Medical Association where he has served in the capacity of Secretary/Treasurer and Officer.

Dr. Taylor currently serves as a mentor to students actively involved or seeking involvement in veterinary medicine. He is passionate about promoting patient care through collaboration within the profession. He enjoys challenging cases especially where the patient�s quality of life can be improved with the aid of surgical procedures.

Dr. Marsha Pollock
Dr. Marsha Pollock

Dr. Pollock loves providing high-quality veterinary care for both dogs and cats. She has a special interest in feline medicine as well and takes pleasure in working at a Feline Friendly Practice. AAFP, which is the American Association of Feline Practitioners. Some of her other professional interests include internal medicine cases, pain management, performing joint injections, and dentistry. She also greatly enjoys working together as a team with the pet owners to tailor the medical care to their own personal and individual pets needs. Dr. Pollock has expertise in various aspects of veterinary medicine, and includes the privilege of having participated in a specialized continuing education training program in communication. Dr. Pollock is dedicated to addressing all of your needs and helping to educate owners regarding their loved ones care.

Dr. Pollock began her veterinary career as a high school student by joining VCA Centreville Animal Hospital in 2003 as part of our boarding assistant team. She continued to work at Centreville Animal Hospital throughout her education, and she graduated from college Summa Cum Laude as a Licensed Veterinary Technician. Dr. Pollock received her Doctorate degree and graduated with honors from the Virginia Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine (Virginia Tech) in May 2011 and was the salutatorian of the 2011 veterinary class.

Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Pollock loves to spend time with her husband and her pets. Dr. Pollock was married to her wonderful husband in July of 2014 and they love to go hiking with the dogs. Her two mixed breed rescue dogs are named Smokey and Trooper, and her cat Shadow loves to boss the dogs around! Dr. Pollock plays in an indoor soccer league, as well as enjoys running and participating in half-marathons. She is also a big football fan. Family is very important to Dr. Pollock and she was born and raised here in Northern Virginia. She still has many relatives that live in this area and they bring their pets to VCA Centreville Animal Hospital too.

Dr. Christopher Vanderhoof
Dr. Christopher Vanderhoof

Dr. Vanderhoof, Associate Veterinarian, was raised in Hopatcong, NJ. He completed an associate degree in veterinary technology and practiced as a veterinary technician prior to completing a bachelor's degree in animal science at Virginia Tech in 2008. He received his DVM degree at the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 2013 and completed a master?s degree in public health the following fall. In the summer of 2015, Dr. Vanderhoof completed a rotating internship in medicine and surgery with Red Bank Veterinary Hospital in NJ. Dr. Vanderhoof?s veterinary interests include ultrasound, soft tissue surgery, acupuncture, and public health. Interests outside of work include running, the outdoors, and watching movies. Dr. Vanderhoof currently resides in Centreville with his wife, daughter, and their three cats, Tech, Bart, and Annie.

Dr. Alison Hart
Dr. Alison Hart

Growing up in rural Pennsylvania, Dr. Hart was exposed to all animals, big and small, from an early age. Over the years, her love and passion for animals continued to grow so veterinary medicine was an easy career choice. She attended veterinary school at Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine, graduating in May 2014. Following school, she moved to Washington D.C. to complete a one-year small animal medical and surgical rotating internship. She remained in the area working in both general practice and emergency medicine until joining the team at VCA Centreville in May 2017.

Her personal interests include preventative care, dentistry, and dermatology. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, gardening, interior design, and spending time with her husband, daughter and two dogs, Beans and Luna.

Dr. Chrissy Nichol
Dr. Chrissy Nichol

Dr. Chrissy Nichol is a southeastern Pennsylvania native, and graduated from The Pennsylvania State University with a B.S. in Biology. While at Penn State, she spent much of her free time volunteering at a cat and dog rescue and with a wildlife rehabilitator. She went on to complete her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine at Virginia Tech. In Vet school, Dr. Nichol was an active member of numerous student organizations and completed a business management certificate program through the Veterinary Business Management Association. She was awarded with the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine Certificate of Excellence as a senior vet student, and upon graduation Dr. Nichol was inducted into the Society of Phi Zeta, the Honors Society of Veterinary Medicine.

Dr. Nichol holds many interests in veterinary medicine, but is she is most passionate about internal medicine, behavioral medicine, preventative care, and surgery. She enjoys working with all animals, but she especially loves to work with cats and sighthounds.
Since her sophomore year in college Dr. Nichol has shared her home with her cat, Harley. Her extended furry family includes a whippet named Fidget and three cats named Tater, Flea, and Sushi. Dr. Nichol is also looking forward to the day that she can share her home once more with a rescued racing Greyhound.

In her spare time, Dr. Nichol can be found out hiking in the mountains, cooking for her friends and family, or reading a good book. She is also an accomplished artist, and has been practicing her drawing and painting skills since she was in elementary school. She has held a small craft boating license since she was fourteen, and enjoys spending time boating with her family.

During her clinical year of vet school, Dr. Nichol held several externships in Northern Virginia, including one at Centreville Animal Hospital. She fell in love with Virginia, and although she will miss the farmlands of Pennsylvania, Dr. Nichol is excited to begin the next chapter of her career here in Centreville where she has many relatives and friends.
