Martin G. St. Germain, DVM
Martin G. St. Germain, DVM

Medical Director
School: Texas A&M University

Dr. St. Germain was born in New Orleans and was raised in the metropolitan area. He attended Cor Jesu High School and completed his pre-veterinary curriculum at LSU. Dr. St. Germain received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine form Texas A&M in 1970.
After two years as a Post Veterinarian in the Army, he returned to Metairie and opened Causeway Animal Hospital in 1972. He was determined to become a veterinarian when he was 12 years old and his grandmother commented he would be a good animal doctor because of the way he took care of all of the neighborhood strays.
Dr. St.Germain is married to his high school sweetheart, Diane. They have two children. They have also raised several wonderful Golden Retrievers and now enjoy the company of a mischievous calico kitten named Chessie.

Andra M. Ponson, DVM

Associate Veterinarian
School: Louisiana State University

Dr. Ponson was born and raised in Slidell, Louisiana and graduated from Salmen High School. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science from Louisiana State University in 2003 and graduated from the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine in 2007. After practicing for one year in North Carolina, she returned home to Louisiana and began working at Causeway Animal Hospital. Dr. Ponson lives in the riverbend area with her Golden Retriever, Bacchus, who is a certified therapy dog.

Anissa L. Peneguy, DVM
Anissa L. Peneguy, DVM

Associate Veterinarian
School: Louisiana State University

Dr. Peneguy is a New Orleans native. She was born in 1969 and knew she wanted to be a veterinarian four years later when she watched Dr. Pelle deliver a litter of Dachshund puppies. She went to St. Pius X Grammar School and Mount Carmel High School. She was the first student to graduate from LSU with a Bachelor of Science in Animal Systems on the Vet school's three-plus-one program.Before going to Vet school she went to Orlando, Florida and worked at Walt Disney World for one summer. She graduated from LSU Veterinary School in 1995.
She lives in Metairie with her husband David , their daughter Piper born in 2005, two Dachshunds and one cat. The family spends time with their friends enjoying church related functions and spending time outdoors especially in the Smokey Mountains. They also share a hobby of traveling around the country to ride passenger trains. Dr. Peneguy also decorates her home and garden as a hobby.

Dr. Lagattuta is a New Orleans native. For high school she attended Mount Carmel Academy. It was during high school that she began working at Causeway Animal Hospital as a kennel attendant. Dr. Lagattuta attended Louisiana State University for 3 years of undergraduate learning before beginning Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine. During her undergraduate years she continued working at Causeway Animal Hospital as a technicians assistant. In 2005, Dr. Lagattuta received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from LSU School of Veterinary Medicine. After graduation, she returned to Causeway Animal Hospital where her journey in veterinary medicine began. Dr. Lagattuta now lives in Lakeview after repairing her Hurricane Katrina damaged home. She lives with her dog, Thai and her cat, Reese.

Marlon J. Rovira, DVM

Dr. Rovira is a native of New Orleans. He was raised in Metairie, Louisiana and attended St. Christopher Grammar School. He then went on to graduate from De La Salle High School in 1964. He received a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology in 1969. After a tour in the Navy and some time working in industry, Dr. Rovira returned to school to receive his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from LSU in 1980. He joined the staff at that time and has been practicing here ever since.

Biography
Dr. Morse is a native of New Orleans, growing up in Metairie. Although she did not have numerous pets, she wanted to be a veterinarian since the age of 6, desiring to help God's creatures that could not help themselves.
She attended LSU in Baton Rouge and received a Bachelor of Science in Animal Systems. She was a very active member and officer of Pi Beta Phi Woman's Fraternity. She went on to the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine: there she was involved in Open House, the Raptor and Wildlife Rehabilitation Unit, and worked in Large and Small Animal Surgery.
After graduating in 1999, she followed her mentor to a small clinic in St. Bernard Parish. Hurricane Katrina claimed that clinic and flooded her home in Metairie. She briefly worked in Baton Rouge before joining the Causeway Animal Hospital family in February 2006.
She enjoys the variety that veterinary medicine provides and likes being in a progressive practice with other experienced veterinarians to offer support.

Dr. Pelle is a life long resident of the New Orleans Area. He grew up in Lakeview and attended St. Dominic Grammar School. After graduating from St. Aloysius High School, he received his Bachelor of Science and Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine degrees from Texas A&M. He has been in small animal practice since 1969 and with VCA Causeway Animal Hospital since 1972. "After 40 years of practice I consider myself very fortunate to be able to spend my life doing something that I enjoy and still find fulfilling."

Treyton Jai Diggs, DVM
Treyton Jai Diggs, DVM

Associate Veterinarian
School: Tuskegee University

Dr. Treyton Jai Diggs is a native of rural Boutte, Louisiana, but was reared in urban Miramar, Florida. During his sophomore year in high school at Miramar Senior High, Dr. Diggs relocated to Boutte and attended and graduated from Hahnville Senior High School. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, Louisiana. After receiving his B. S. from Nicholls, he pursued his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at the historic Tuskegee University in Tuskegee, Alabama.
While in veterinary school, Dr. Diggs worked in the anatomy lab and the large animal clinic. After completing veterinary school, Dr. Diggs was chosen to do an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at California Animal Hospital Veterinary Specialty Group in Los Angeles, California. Upon completion of his internship, Dr. Diggs decided to return home to Boutte; thus, joining the VCA Causeway Animal Hospital family.
