Joyce Mellon

Veterinary School: Tufts University
Graduate School: Northeastern University /

Dr. Mellon has been a fixture at the Boston Rd Animal Hospital for over 17 years! She attended Northeastern University in Boston for her undergraduate and graduate degrees. In 1992, Dr. Mellon completed her studies at the Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine.

Dr. Mellon shares her home with 2 donkeys, 4 sheep, 4 goats, chickens and guinea hens, 4 cats, one corgi, and her husband, Jim.

Nicki Puza, DVM, DACVIM
Nicki Puza, DVM, DACVIM

Dr. Nicole Puza earned her DVM at University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine before completing a small animal rotating internship at University of Missouri Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital. Since then, she has completed a Specialty Internship in Internal Medicine and Critical Care with Texas Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialists followed by a small animal internal medicine residency at the Veterinary Medical Center of Long Island.

Dr. Puza has particular clinical interest in immune-mediated and infectious diseases. When she isn�t at work, she loves Crossfit, exploring local shops and restaurants, and do-it-yourself crafts.

David Diamond, VMD, D A C V S

Dr. David Diamond, DVM, Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons, graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 1993. He completed a one-year rotating internship in medicine and surgery at the Animal Medical Center in New York City, and a 3-year residency in surgery at Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine and Angell Memorial Animal Hospital. Dr. Diamond passed his board certification examination to become a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons in 1999. He was a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Surgery at Tufts University from 1998-1999, and was a staff surgeon at Angell from 1999-2001.

Rich Segaloff, DVM (Practice Limited to Oncology)

Dr. Segaloff graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 2004. He later attended the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University, graduating in 2009. Dr. Segaloff then went on to complete a one-year small animal rotating internship at New England Animal Medical Center in West Bridgewater, MA. His training then continued with a one-year oncology internship at the Animal Cancer Care Clinic of Fort Lauderdale, FL. In 2011 Dr. Segaloff joined the oncology team at VCA Bay Area Veterinary Specialists as a medical oncology resident. When not at work, Dr. Segaloff, his wife and their two dogs enjoy hiking and kayaking.

Jeanne Ficociello, VMD, MS, DACVIM
Jeanne Ficociello, VMD, MS, DACVIM

Dr. Jeanne Ficociello was born in raised north of Boston in Wilmington, MA. She obtained her Bachelor's Degree in Biology at Harvard University and attended veterinary school at the University of Pennsylvania. She graduated in 2006 and moved to Los Angeles, where she completed a one-year rotating internship at the VCA West Los Angeles Animal Hospital and then returned to Boston as a general practioner for one year. In 2008, she moved to Fort Collins, Colorado and completed a three-year residency in small animal Internal Medicine at Colorado State University. She also earned her Masters during that time period and studied infectious diseases, including Bartonella, the cause of cat scratch fever. Dr. Ficociello is happy to be back in the Boston area and has many professional interests, including renal disease, gastrointestinal disease, liver disease and endocrinology. She also loves endoscopic procedures and laparoscopy.
