We are an ever growing hospital. We are now a 4 doctor practice and offer appointments 7 days a week (yes, even on sunday)! We recently expanded our services to help us provide our clients with great care 7 days a week.

We offer just about everything you would ever need for your four-legged family. We offer boarding, medical, surgery, dentistry, orthopedic surgery, ultrasound, prescription medication and pet food. If you are looking for a family orientated veterinary clinic we are the place. We take great pride in being able to offer you our best in medical treatments and care through our medical team. Karen Medkeff, DVM
Karen Medkeff, DVM

Medical Director
School: Ohio State University

Dr. Karen Medkeff grew up in the Midwest, befriending any animal she came across. While in college, she worked for a local vet in just about every position available, from tech assistant to boarding and cleaning to receptionist. She graduated from the University of Akron and then went to The Ohio State Collage of Veterinary Medicine, graduating in 1997. She moved to Arizona and practiced for 8 years in Sierra Vista. After visiting Alaska for the first time in 2003, the family fell in love with the state and moved the next year.

Cortney Chapin, DVM
Cortney Chapin, DVM

Associate Veterinarian
School: Michigan State University

Dr. Chapin was born and raised in Michigan, where she spent summers camping, hiking and bike riding. She attended Saint Mary's College of Notre Dame earning a B.S in biology. Cortney spent 2 years working as a veterinary assistant at an AAHA certified practice in Michigan. Cortney graduated form Michigan Sate University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2009 and moved to Alaska to practice medicine. During her free time she like to spend it camping, hiking and playing sports.

Andrea Klepzig, DVM

Associate Veterinarian
School: University of Missouri

Dr. Klepzig was born and raised in Missouri were she went to school and graduated. After gradation she went to ER rotation for 3 years and then transferred in to private practice. Andrea moved to Alaska in the fall of 2009. In her spare time she likes to travel around the world and spend time with her dog Stella.

Valerie Warmuth, DVM
Valerie Warmuth, DVM

Associate Veterinarian
School: University of Florida

Born and raised in Magnolia, DE, Dr. Warmuth earned a BS in Biology from Florida Atlantic University in 2006 and graduated from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine in 2010. She came to Alaska for the first time in 2009 for an externship and returned several times before relocating and joining her first practice in Soldotna in June 2010.
Dr. Warmuth has worked as a trail veterinarian for the Tustemena 200 and enjoys performing pre-race exams for the Iditarod. She has a special interest in orthopaedics/sports medicine and internal medicine, as well as some exotic pets and traveled from Florida with her chinchilla, Ebert.
Dr. Warmuth enjoys fishing, cross-country skiing, and learning more about all Alaska has to offer
