Heather Schobert-Nichols, DVM
Heather Schobert-Nichols, DVM

Medical Director
School: Kansas State University

Dr. Schobert is originally from Kansas, but lived near Sunsites, AZ for 6 years as a young girl. She has felt a draw to the southwest ever since. Before joining us here, she was a veterinarian in Las Vegas for 9+ years. She is a graduate of Kansas State University, where she completed a B.S. in Animal Science and her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. She has been a member of our team since September 2009. Her special interests are internal medicine and soft tissue surgery. Her furry family includes a Doberman pinscher named Kona and four cats named Rafeke, Kokopelli, Pele, and Sleepy 7 (named by her children). In her free time she loves spending time with her family, photography, hiking, camping and rock climbing.

Yolmari Cruz
Yolmari Cruz

DVM, Associate Veterinarian
University of Georgia

Dr. Cruz is a native of Puerto Rico and has lived in the United States since she was seven. she speaks fluently English and Spanish. She grew up in Edison, New Jersey and attended Rutgers University for one year before moving to Tampa, Florida where she completed her bachelor's deree in microbilolgy at the University of South Florida in 2004. She received her doctorate of veterinary medicine in February 2013 From St. Matthew's University School of Veterinary Medicine located in the beautiful Cayman Islands and completed her clinical training at the University of Georgia. Dr. Cruz has traveled to Thailand where she worked with elephants and hopes to go back again to visit. Even though she is a long way from home, she fell in love with the state of Arizona and enjoys the beautiful mountain views and hiking. Her favorite pass times include spending time with her family, ballroom dancing, watching movies and landscape photography. Dr. Cruz has two dogs, a toy Pomeranian named Max and a long-haired Dachshund named Sophy.

Justine Brown
Justine Brown

DVM, Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Brown is an upstate New York native where her love of animals was developed by spending many hours on family horse and dairy farms. When she decided to attend veterinary school she gave into the traveling bug and attended the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland. Taking full advantage of living abroad, Dr. Brown traveled as far as New Zealand and India learning veterinary practices from around the world. Once back stateside she was a mixed animal doctor in the Adirondack mountains, dealing with everything from guinea pigs to cows. After visiting her older sister in Prescott, AZ over the years, Dr. Brown decided to pull up stakes and make the move across the country. In her free time, she enjoys staying active with traveling, gardening, hiking, and running.
