Dr. Donald Kennard
Dr. Donald Kennard

Medical Director
DVM, Ohio State University

Dr. Kennard fulfilled his childhood dream of becoming a Veterinarian in 1985 when he graduated from the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. He worked for four years in a six doctor companion animal practice in Northeastern Ohio. During this time he developed a strong interest in surgery, dentistry, and diseases related to pets as the age.

Dr. Kennard purchased 12 Mile Animal Hospital in 1989 and has led the hospital as Medical Director ever since.

He joined the VCA family of Veterinary Hospitals in 2006 and is very happy to be a part of an organization that puts patient care and customer service as a top priority. Dr. Kennard has built a team of doctors and technicians that reflect his values and commitment to providing the best care possible.

Diane Decker
Diane Decker

Associate Veterinarian
DVM, Cornell University

Dr. Decker is a 2002 graduate of the Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine. She graduated cum laude, was inducted to the Phi Zeta National Veterinary Honor Society, and received several scholarships and awards including the Alan Hart Clinical Proficiency Award, and the "Honoring Our Peers" Award for extraordinary extracurricular activities. After graduation, Dr. Decker completed a year-long small animal medicine and surgery internship at the Regional Veterinary Referral Center in Virginia, where she worked closely with specialists of several disciplines and was a staff doctor at the hospital’s busy emergency and critical care center. She moved to Oregon in the fall of 2003 with her husband, where they share their home with 5 wonderful cats and 3 dogs, all rescues and special in their own way. When not at work, she is an avid ultimate frisbee player and enjoys working on her house.

Dr. Decker is passionate about fostering the human-animal bond by providing compassionate, high quality medicine. Her goal is to help caring pet owners be the best guardians of their companion’s health. She believes in the beauty and validity of the love we share with our 4-legged family members and strives to honor that in every visit, from well puppy or kitten to senior care and everything in between.

R.W. (Randy) Ford
R.W. (Randy) Ford

Associate Veterinarian
DVM, Ontario Veterinary College

After graduating with a degree in biology from Cal. State Univ. at Fullerton, Dr. Ford moved to Guelph, Ont. Canada and obtained a DVM degree from Ontario Veterinary College. After a year in a mixed animal practice, he moved to British Columbia to become a partner in a 5 doctor veterinary hospital where small animal medicine and surgery became his area of interest. After 5 years he moved to Northern California where he met his wife Cheryl and spent another 5 years before moving to the Portland area and settling in Gresham Oregon.

Dr. Ford has spent most of his life on the West Coast and has worked in Gresham area for approximately 15 years. Dr. Ford has found it to be very gratifying to be involved with a practice like VCA 12 Mile Animal Hospital where he feels excellent patient care is the primary focus.
