Robert T. Pane, DVM
Robert T. Pane, DVM

Dr. Robert T. Pane is a Senior Associate Veterinarian and has been with South Kendall Animal Hospital since 1977.

Originally from the upstate New York town of North Tonawanda, Dr. Pane says that his youth involved working at a local dairy farm, and then, as a kennel assistant at a local veterinary hospital, where eight years later, he was hired as an associate veterinarian. However, he says the earliest influence guiding him toward a veterinary career was the German shepherd he raised from a pup. The unconditional love and friendship of this first pet provided many wonderful days, but also helped him work through the loss of his older brother.

For his undergraduate studies, Dr. Pane attended the State University of New York at Buffalo, where he majored in Biology and was inducted into the Freshman Honor Society. After being given early admission to veterinary school, Dr. Pane enrolled in the College of Veterinary Medicine at Cornell University in 1971 and received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1975. He also holds certification in Stem Cell Therapy and K-Laser Therapeutic Laser.

Dr. Pane's areas of special professional interest include dentistry, surgery, exotic animal medicine, and dermatology. He is also a member of a number of professional organizations, which include the American Veterinary Medical Association, South Florida Veterinary Medical Association, American Animal Hospital Association, Association of Avian Veterinarians, Florida Veterinary Medical Association, American Association of Feline Practitioners, American Veterinary Dental Society, American Academy of Veterinary Dermatology, American Ferret Association, American Heartworm Society, American Holistic Veterinary Medical Association, Association of Exotic Mammal Veterinarians, Association of Reptilian and Amphibian Veterinarians, Humane Society Veterinary Medical Association, Association of Veterinary Family Practice, and the Association of Sugar Glider Veterinarians.

Angela Suarez, DVM
Angela Suarez, DVM

Dr. Angela Suarez is an Associate Veterinarian at South Kendall Animal Hospital and has been with the practice since September 2018.

Dr. Suarez was inspired to work in the veterinary field when she volunteered at a wildlife rehabilitation center. She found herself always seeking more information and knowledge about the animals physically, mentally, and behaviorally. This natural curiosity translated to small animal medicine, and inspired Dr. Suarez to be the warmhearted and highly-experienced veterinarian she is today.

Born and raised on the Space Coast of Florida in the small town of Merritt Island, Dr. Angela Suarez knew she was going to live in a big city when she grew up. She attended the University of Miami and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in biology and double minors in chemistry and psychology.

Dr. Suarez continued to pursue a career in canine and feline medicine at the University of Florida, and she graduated in the top 20% of her class in 2015. Her areas of professional interest in soft-tissue surgery and emergency medicine began developing early. Today, she also has professional interests in dermatology and dentistry. Above all, Dr. Suarez finds fulfillment in being able to help a sick or injured pet return to a life of health and happiness with their family.

Following graduation, Dr. Suarez completed an intensive one-year internship in internal medicine, emergency medicine, and surgery at VCA Hollywood Animal Hospital to further develop her skills and strengthen her knowledge. When her internship was complete, she continued to work at the practice until she and her husband made the decision to return to Miami.

When Dr. Suarez is not seeing pets at South Kendall, she finds opportunity for self-care by working in the garden (especially with orchids) and upgrading her recently purchased home with her husband, spending time at the beach, relaxing with friends, and working on becoming fluent in Spanish (to keep up with her husband!)

She has three forever friends who call her mom; Cavalli, a Bengal cat she has had since her college years; Jason, a rescue Bengal cat; and Gracie, a rescue miniature schnauzer. Dr. Suarez met Gracie for the first time in 2013 when she was admitted to UF after being hit by a car. Following orthopedic surgery for a broken pelvis, Gracie was adopted by a rescue volunteer who unfortunately passed away in 2017. Gracie was a perfect fit for the Suarez family and now enjoys a lavish backyard with daily doses of hugs and kisse
