Marie Nation, DVM is the owner of Pet Nation.
Dr. Nation graduated from the University of Illnois ? Urbana in 1981 with a Bachelor?s Degree in Electrical Engineering (honors). After reevaluating the priorities in her life, she fulfilled her life?s ambition by receiving her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Minnesota in 2004. She worked at Animal Wellness Center in Maple Grove until 2008 when she founded Pet Nation Veterinary Care Center. It has certainly been quite an experience watching the clinic grow over the years. She enjoys practicing general veterinary medicine, especially with a dedicated and caring team who are always looking to improve their clinical knowledge and skills.

Dr. Nation will make sure you get all the best options for your furry family member!
She and her husband Gary share their home with Fiona (a Cardigan Welsh Corgi), Edward (a Pembroke Welsh Corgi), Picard (a Papillon) and a few sleepy cats. Dr. Nation is very grateful that so many clients have entrusted their cherished pet?s care to Pet Nation.
Tanya graduated from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine in 2010. Becoming a veterinarian had always been a lifelong goal and dream for Dr. Lewis, and she is so excited to be able to call this her career. She thoroughly enjoys preventative medicine, surgery, and dentistry, though she calls surgery her passion. She is also continually researching new and innovative ways to improve your pet?s health.
When you meet Dr. Lewis in the clinic whether for an exam or to discuss surgery, you will find that she is very thorough and will happily communicate with you anything regarding your pet?s health.
Dr. Lewis owns one horse, Alejandro- a Paso Fino gelding, as well as a miniature donkey named Emmitt. Among the smaller furry family members, she has a very friendly chinchilla named Chuck, and a gregarious cat named Foster. Dr. Lewis is so happy to be able to have worked with so many different four-legged friends through Pet Nation, and is looking forward to continuing to help make a difference in your pet?s lives!
Katies love for veterinary medicine began when she was in diapers, playing with her family cats. As she grew up, her fascination and desire to care for animals continued to develop. She fell in love with science, especially biology and medicine. She earned her Bachelor of Arts at Gustavus Adolphus College with a major in Biology Science and minor in Religion Studies. She then attended the University of Minnesota where she received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. Throughout her education, she remained committed to extracurricular activities such as Pre-Vet Club, Susan G. Komen Philanthropy, Church Youth Group, Student American Veterinary Medical Association, and Alpha Psi Vet Club always striving to help her community while gaining invaluable veterinary experience.
During her time at the Veterinary Medical Center, she developed a passion for dentistry, soft tissue surgery, and preventative medicine. She expanded her knowledge and experience by working side by side with multiple board certified specialists in each field.
During her time away from the clinic she enjoys many outdoor activities such as camping, especially in the Boundary Waters, and swimming. In the winter she enjoys speed skating, and when its just too cold to go outside, crafting. She additionally loves to travel. She has visited Thailand, Costa Rica, London, Jamaica, Mexico and Canada.
She currently has one cat, Elphie, who is a spunky little thing. Elphie was Katies first independent spay in vet school it was love at first sight. She also has recently gained the sweetest pittbull mix dog, Ted, who was rescued by her husband through Rotta Love Rescue many years ago.
