JD Calsyn, VMD- Internal Medicine
JD Calsyn, VMD- Internal Medicine

JD Calsyn, VMD, DACVIM grew up in Southern California and attended college at University of California Los Angeles. After graduation from University of Pennsylvania College of Veterinary Medicine in 2002, he did a rotating internship at the Bobst Hospital of the Animal Medical Center in New York City. Following his internship, Dr. Calsyn worked as an emergency doctor at Red Banks Veterinary Hospital in Tinton Falls, NJ. Following his time as an emergency doctor at Red Banks, Dr. Calsyn started his 3-year residency in Internal Medicine. Since passing his boards, he has worked at Laurel Pet Hospital as the Medical Director.
Dr. Calsyn enjoys outdoor activities such as basketball, hiking, and skiing. He is currently a football coach at Flintridge Preparatory School in La Canada. He coaches the outside linebackers and quarterbacks as well as calling the plays for the Junior varsity offense.

Dr. Andrea Cannon graduated from UC Davis Veterinary School in 1993 and completed her residency in veterinary dermatology at Davis in 1995. She is Board Certified by the American College of Veterinary Dermatology. After her residency, Dr. Cannon completed a fellowship in human dermatology at the University of Miami and then returned to the Sacramento area to pursue her love of clinical medicine. She opened her first practice in Modesto, California, which was followed by additional practices in Roseville/Sacramento, and Boise, Idaho. In 2006, together with her husband Mike, she designed, constructed and opened Animal Dermatology & Allergy in Rocklin, California.

Greg Marsolais, MS, DVM-Surgery

Dr. Greg Marsolais completed his undergraduate degree at California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, California in 1998. He completed a Master of Science in Veterinary Clinical Sciences and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at Iowa State University, graduating in May 2002. The following year, he completed a small animal medicine and surgery internship at Affiliated Veterinary Specialists in Maitland, Florida. In July 2003, Dr. Marsolais began his surgical residency at the University of Illinois. In July 2006, Dr. Marsolais concluded his residency and relocated to northern California where he helped found Veterinary Surgical Centers of the Delta. Dr. Marsolais became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons, upon successfully passing the ACVS examination in February 2007. In 2008, he moved to Monterey, California and founded Pet Surgeons, Inc., a small animal mobile surgical practice. In 2010, Dr. Marsolais formed Pet Specialists, Inc. Pet Specialists of Monterey opened its doors in 2011.

Brook Niemiec, DVM- Dentistry

Dr. Niemiec is a graduate of the University of California, Davis School of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Niemiec is a Board Certified Specialist in Veterinary Dentistry of both the American and European Veterinary Dental Colleges. In addition, he is a Fellow in the Academy of Veterinary Dentistry. He is one of fewer than 10 veterinarians worldwide to hold all three of these certificates. In addition, he is Past President of the Academy of Veterinary Dentistry as well as the A.V.D representative to the World Small Animal Association. Based on all these accomplishments, he is recognized as one of the leading authorities in veterinary dentistry. In addition to his advanced dental training, Dr. Niemiec received extensive post-graduate training in the field of anesthesia, which helps to ensure the safety of pets in our care. As an advocate for improved understanding, prevention and treatment of disease, Dr. Niemiec lectures extensively at local, national, and international meetings. He is also the creator and director of the San Diego Veterinary Dental Training Center. In order to assist other veterinarians in providing optimal dental care, Dr. Niemiec founded the premier veterinary dental telemedicine website: Vet Dental Rad. This service provides dental x-ray interpretation and also offers instructional videos and educational posters. Dr. Niemiec has authored or edited a dozen veterinary dental educational products. These include the definitive textbooks on veterinary periodontology (gum disease), endodontics (fractured and dead teeth), restoratives, extractions, orthodontics (braces), emergency dentistry and a color handbook on diagnosing oral disease. Dr. Niemiec has also authored numerous chapters in internal medicine textbooks as well as other dental books.Dr. Niemiec has had the pleasure of providing high-quality dental care for the pets of Southern California, performing over 40,000 dental procedures. Although Dr. Niemiec is skilled in all aspects of veterinary dentistry, his special interests include endodontic therapy (root canals), periodontal therapy and surgery, dental radiology, and implant dentistry. In his spare time, Dr. Niemiec is an enthusiastic outdoorsman who enjoys hiking, fishing, skiing, and camping. He also enjoys time on the beach with his Labrador Retriever, Caeli.

Dr. John Reed graduated from UC Davis in 1977. After graduating, Dr. Reed completed his internship at Washington State in 1978. During the years of 1978–1980, he worked on his cardiology residency at UC Davis. In 1982 he became board certified in Cardiology through ACVIM. Since 2000, Dr. Reed has been an adjunct professor in the UC Davis Department of Surgery and Radiology.

Dr. Schueler currently owns Veterinary Neurologic Hospital and Rehabilitation Center in Westminster, MD.

After graduating from Texas A&M University in 1973, Dr. White served in the Air Force as a staff veterinarian, before opening his own primary care practice in 1976. While running his primary care practice, Dr. White served as a US Army Reserve Veterinarian until his Texas practice sold in 1994. Dr. White achieved Board Certification in Emergency and Critical Care that year. Dr. White has been involved training residents in various multi-specialty referral practices and is published in multiple emergency and critical care journals. After finishing his resident programs in 2007, Dr. White continued to practice emergency and critical care medicine in Seattle, Washington, and now full time in Fresno, California at F.V.S.E.C. He currently resides in Heron, Montana, and enjoys playing banjo and fiddle in his spare time.
