Dr. Briggs is a 1992 graduate of the Ontario Veterinary College, University of Guelph in Guelph, Ontario, Canada. He joined the staff shortly after graduation and has never left! Dr. Briggs treats all kinds of companion animals and has a special interest in exotic pets. Memberships include the American Veterinary Medical Association New Jersey Veterinary Medical AssociationAmerican Animal Hospital Association,Jersey Shore Veterinary Medical Association (where he also serves as treasurer and was recognized by his colleages and awarded Veterinarian of the Year in 2006, Association of Avian Veterinarians, Association of Exotic Mammal Veterinarians, Association of Reptilian and Amphibian Veterinarians, and the New Jersey Herpetological Society. Dr. Briggs enjoys furthering his knowledge and skills through a variety of continuing education resources including periodicals, conferences and online courses. He also teaches a course on First Aid for Pets at Ocean County College. In his spare time, Dr. Briggs enjoys spending time with his kids, his wife Kristen, working with computers and playing hockey (Dr. Briggs is a native Canadian and became a U.S. citizen in March 2013!). He is also an audio/video/gadget nut and this hobby is perhaps his favorite pastime!
Dr. Billy Danowitz is a 2003 graduate of Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine, which he attended after obtaining a BS degree at Penn State University. Following Veterinary School Dr. Danowitz completed an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Veterinary Specialty Hospital of San Diego in Rancho Santa Fe, CA. Memberships include the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA), and the New Jersey Veterinary Medical Association (NJVMA). When not in the hospital he enjoys spending time with his family: wife Caroline, daughter Faith, dogs Roxy & Janey, and cats Clousseau, Kato and Georgia. A die-hard Springsteen fan, Dr. Danowitz is interested in almost any type of sports, both playing and spectating, and is very fond of watching the races at Monmouth Park during the summer.
Dr. Pearlman is a Jersey Shore native having grown up only miles from OCVH. She attended Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ and completed her DVM degree at the Univeristy of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine. She joined the staff of OCVH in the summer of 2003 and is actively involved in all aspects of companion animal care. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) and Jersey Shore Veterinary Medical Association (JSVMA). Prior to graduation from vet school, Dr. Pearlman spent some time managing a local animal shelter and rescued pets of her own. When not delivering excellent patient care, Dr. Pearlman has been known to blow through several rolls of film pursuing her photographic interests along with tending a beautiful garden.
Dr. Lorri Mitchell is a 1997 graduate of the Atlantic Veterinary College at The University of Prince Edward Island, Canada. Upon graduation she joined Ocean County Veterinary Hospital where she was an associate veterinarian until 2007. After a 4-year hiatus in Virginia, Dr. Mitchell has returned to NJ. She a strong interest in internal medicine, soft tissue surgery and has proficiency in ultrasound.
Dr. Mitchell is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association ,American Animal Hospital Association, and New Jersey Veterinary Medical Association, and is also USDA Accredited Veterinarian.
As a transplanted Canadian, Dr. Mitchell enjoyed southern living, but is now excited to be back on the Jersey Shore, seeing familiar patients and meeting new ones. In her spare time she is mom to twin boys, 2 cats, 2 Russian dwarf hamsters a rabbit and her dog Nitro!
Dr. Jenna Koenigstein graduated from Tufts University Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine, Massachusetts, in 2012, after receiving her Bachelor's degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY, in 2007. She worked as a veterinary technician at Ocean County Veterinary Hospital for many summers during her and undergraduate and veterinary school years and was eager to return as an associate doctor.
Dr. Koenigstein is a native of the New Jersey, growing up in nearby Toms River. She shares her home with her husband Steve, 2 cats, Charlie and Cameron, and her energetic Labs named Sammy and Nikki. In her free time, Dr. Koenigstein enjoys reading, cooking, running, and spending time with family and friends
Dr. Iaquinto earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at Texas A&M University in 2003, which she attended after obtaining her BS in Animal Science at the University of Delaware. Following Veterinary School, Dr. Iaquinto completed a one-year internship in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery at Oradell Animal Hospital in Paramus, NJ. Before moving to our area, Dr. Iaquinto was an Associate Veterinarian at Rutherford Animal Hospital in northern NJ.
Dr. Iaquinto is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association,American Animal Hospital Association , and New Jersey Veterinary Medical Association.
Away from the hospital, Dr. Iaquinto enjoys spending time with her family - husband, Stephen, daughters Abby and Emma, three dogs and four cats. In addition, Dr. Iaquinto enjoys cooking and traveling.
She is very excited to be working at Ocean County Veterinary Hospital and its affiliates. Dr. Iaquinto looks forward to getting to know you, your family and your pets!
Dr. Weiner graduated from Tufts University Veterinary School in 2006 after earning his undergraduate degree from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst in 2002. After graduation, he performed a rotating clinical internship in West Hartford at The Veterinary Specialists of Connecticut. Following this, he joined the Ocean County Veterinary Hospital staff in the summer of 2007. He grew up in northern Massachusetts and has spent most of his life in New England prior to his move to the lovely New Jersey shore. He has strong interests in animal behavior, reinforcing the human-animal bond, internal medicine and ultrasound. Dr. Weiner is a current member of the American Veterinary Medical Association.
Outside of veterinary medicine he likes to hike, jog, ski, read, and spend time with his wife, two dogs, four cats and a rabbit. He is also an avid baseball and football fan.
Dr. Paul Crawford graduated from Temple University in Philadelphia in 2009, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. He then traveled down to the beautiful island of Grenada for study at St. George's University School of Veterinary Medicine for three years. After a year of clinical studies at the University of Tennessee he graduated with his veterinary degree in 2014. Following graduation, Dr. Crawford completed a one-year internship in small animal medicine at Red Bank Veterinary Hospital. Prior to veterinary school and during school breaks, he worked as veterinary technician and spent a summer as an extern at the Philadelphia Zoo.
In his free time, Dr. Crawford likes to watch and play sports (especially baseball, basketball, and football) and loves fishing. He has a wonderful cat named Smoke. Dr. Crawford has a strong interest in exotic pets and happy to meet all your scaly, feathered, and furry pets.
Dr. Ross Gottlieb graduated with a DVM degree from the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in May of 2015. He obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Marine Biology from the University of Miami in 2011. He is originally from North Brunswick and is excited to be back in his beloved home state of New Jersey to start his veterinary career.
Dr. Gottlieb is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), as well as the Association of Reptile and Amphibian Veterinarians.
In his spare time, Dr. Gottlieb enjoys going to the beach and tending to his saltwater aquarium. Dr. Gottlieb lives in Brick with his Lab mix named Venus, a carpet python, a corn snake, a blue tongued skink, and a common snapping turtle. He has a special interest in reptiles, birds, and exotic pets, but enjoys seeing all types of companion animals!
Dr. Christina Martins graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 2014. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Biology from Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, NJ, in 2010. Having grown up in Linden, NJ, she was eager to return to the Garden State after graduating veterinary school. Before joining the Ocean County Veterinary Hospital Group of practices, Dr. Martins completed an Internship in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery at Red Bank Veterinary Hospital.
She loves living at the beach in Asbury Park with her beautiful cat, Tallulah. In her free time, Dr. Martins enjoys going to the gym, going to the beach, and exploring the local area with friends.
