They work side-by-side with a skilled staff of veterinary technicians and veterinary assistants that excel in providing prompt, cutting-edge veterinary care to even the most critical patients while using the latest technological advances.
They are fully capable of managing a wide variety of emergency cases that range from minor to life-threatening. Dr. Fox has been on the forefront of emergency veterinary medicine for 20 years. He and his wife Valerie, opened their first hospital, the Veterinary Emergency Treatment Services in Waldorf in 1996 and that evolved into the first 24 hour veterinary hospital, the Southern Maryland Veterinary Referral Center, in the state of Maryland, Dr. Fox and his wife sold the Southern Maryland Veterinary Referral Center in 2008 and in 2015 the opened the Waldorf Emergency Care. Waldorf Emergency Care is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Dr. Fox, his wife Valerie, and their young daughter live on a large horse farm in Southern Maryland. They breed and show Hanoverian sport horses. In 2015, they had two horses competing in the Pentathlon World Cup Championships. Their daughter competes in show jumping.
When he's not at the hospital Dr. Fox enjoys the horses, but does not ride, he plays golf, bikes, and scuba dives.
