Our goal at the Fairview Veterinary Hospital is to provide the best veterinary medical and veterinary surgical care possible for your pets in a compassionate, clean, and stress-free environment.
Located in Fairport, NY, we are part of the Monroe Veterinary Associates, a large veterinary organization located in the Rochester NY area. Fairview Veterinary Hospital is a full service animal hospital (including boarding) with referral capabilities to the Veterinary Specialists of Rochester as well as to a 24 hour emergency and trauma center, the Animal Emergency Service of Rochester.
Our veterinary hospital staff includes three veterinarians, five licensed veterinary technicians, client service representatives and kennel attendants. Our staff is only a phone call or a short visit away. We are happy to help you in any way that we can.

Originally from New Jersey, Hospital Director Dr. Mark Pessin has cared for pets at Fairview Veterinary Hospital as a general practitioner since 2000.
Dr. Pessin attended Muhlenberg College and received his Bachelor's Degree in Biology in 1977. He also holds a Master's Degree in Wildlife Studies from North Dakota State University. Dr. Pessin continued at the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine and was awarded his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1988.
Following veterinary school, Dr. Pessin accepted an internship position at the Animal Hospital of Pittsford. After completing his internship in 1989, he remained with Monroe Veterinary Associates, caring for pets as a general practitioner for Irondequoit Animal Hospital from 1990 to 1996. He then served as the director of Companion Animal Hospital from 1995 until 2000, when he joined the Fairview medical team.
When he's not busy with his many duties at the hospital, Dr. Pessin enjoys hiking, golfing, going to concerts and playing sports with his two sons. He enjoys the companionship of three dogs - a pair of Chihuahuas named Taz and Lucy and a Mastiff named Buddy - and two cats, Tip and Gohan. He also has a barn for a small number of sheep and miniature donkeys!
A native of the Saratoga area, Dr. Lovelock has cared for pets as a general practitioner at Fairview Veterinary Hospital since 1992.
Dr. Lovelock graduated cum laude from the University of Rochester in 1976 where she received a Bachelor of Science degree with distinction in Biology-Geology. She attended the New York State College of Veterinary Medicine at Cornell Univesity, receiving her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1983. During her four years at Cornell, Dr. Lovelock was the recipient of several academic awards. In her junior year, she was inducted into Phi Zeta, the veterinary honor society, and at graduation she was awarded the Mary Louise Moore Prize for Bacteriology and the Sheidy Prize for Pharmacology. Following veterinary school, Dr. Lovelock was selected for a one-year rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Georgia, in Athens, Georgia.
Upon completion of her internship in 1984, Dr. Lovelock returned to the Rochester area and joined Monroe Veterinary Associates. She previously cared for pets at Irondequoit Animal Hospital as well as the Perinton Veterinary Hospital before joining the Fairview Veterinary Hospital medical team.
Dr. Lovelock is a member of the Internship Committee and the LVT Continuing Education Program at Monroe Veterinary Associates. In addition, she participates in a multitude of science fairs and Career Days at middle schools and high schools in the Pittsford area. In her free time, Dr. Lovelock enjoys skiing and biking, as well as traveling and spending time with her children, family and friends.
A general practitioner at Fairview Veterinary Hospital since 2003, Dr. Michele Linnenbrink originally hails from Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Dr. Linnenbrink attended Colorado State University and received her Bachelor's Degree in Biology in 1995. She continued her education at the Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine and was awarded her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2000.
A member of the New York State Veterinary Medical Association and the Genesee Valley Veterinary Medical Association, Dr. Linnenbrink also provides medical services to the Wayne County Humane Society.
Dr. Linnenbrink shares her home with a bloodhound, a St. Bernard and three cats, as well as her children and husband. Traveling and playing bingo are among her many hobbies.
