Description

Welcome to County Animal Clinic in Yonkers, New York!

Our veterinarians, technicians and other pet-friendly support staff are trained to the highest standards. Their thorough knowledge of the latest procedures and medicines ensures that all our patients receive the best in preventive and healing care.

County Animal Clinic has been serving the communities of lower Westchester and the northern Bronx since the 1980’s. We are a full service veterinary facility providing comprehensive medical and surgical services. We provide primary and preventative care including vaccination, annual and semi-annual wellness exams, body function screening, parasite prevention, canine and feline spays and neuters, and dental care. We additionally provide medical care for sick patients including management of chronic disease, hospitalization, some chemotherapy, and utilize both on and off site diagnostic labs. County Animal Clinic is open 7 days per week!
We work in close association with a nearby specialty hospital for those patients that might be deemed as critical and requiring immediate specialist care.

In addition to our four full-time primary care doctors (all of whom complete a minimum of 30 hours of continuing education per year - almost three times the New York State requirement), we also utilize boarded specialists in both orthopedic and soft tissue surgery, abdominal ultrasound, echocardiography, endoscopy, colonoscopy, and rhinoscopy. We have digital in-house x-ray capability and every x-ray taken includes a boarded radiologist consultation.

In addition to our experienced doctor staff, County Animal Clinic strives to maintain a maximum number of licensed veterinary technicians (nurses), and we have a both an experienced administrative/management department and kennel crew. Our entire team is dedicated to providing not only the standards established by the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) of which we are a member, but also the high standards of medical care that we have established over the many years of being there for our canine and feline patients. We provide 30 minute appointments as it is imperative to us that our doctors have adequate time to spend with their patients and determine the best plan without being rushed. For us, the most important part of our interaction is getting to know our patient and treating him or her as if they were our own pet. At County Animal Clinic, our goal is to continue our long history of providing the very best standard of medicine for your pet.

We look forward to meeting you and your pet and being a part of their health care for many years to come!

Marcia Perkins, Associate Veterinarian
Marcia Perkins, Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Perkins has always shared a love for both science and animals. So she was excited to learn that she could combine both of her passions with a career in veterinary technology, receiving her degree as a Vet Tech. It wasn't until Dr. Perkins worked at Animal Medical Center in NYC as a surgical anesthesia technician that she thought of continuing her studies to become a veterinarian. After working there for 10 years Dr. Perkins was accepted to St. Matthew's University in Grand Cayman Islands WI. Dr. Perkins performed her clinical rotation at the University of Georgia. After graduating she returned to her hometown of Bronx, NY and worked as an associate veterinarian in a small animal practice. When not at work Dr. Perkins enjoys spending time with my family, friends and her cat Katy. Hobbies outside of veterinary medicine include reading, vegan cooking, traveling and dancing. I am excited to join County Animal Clinic and look forward to meeting all my new patients!
