Welcome to Columbine Animal Hospital and Emergency Clinic where our mission is to provide quality, compassionate, life-long family member care. We have been practicing in southwest Littleton for over 40 years, and look forward to welcoming you and your furry friends to our animal family. We have an amazing staff of talented doctors and support staff with special interests in all aspects of pet care. Our family-oriented staff is committed to providing state of the art veterinary care while maintaining an atmosphere of respect, support, and continued learning.

We offer a complete range of veterinary services, including vaccinations, routine, major, and emergency medical, surgical, and dental services, hospitalization, critical care and boarding. An emergency doctor is present all nights, holidays, and weekends.

Dr. Lee Bregitzer
Dr. Lee Bregitzer

Dr. Lee Bregitzer opened the doors of Columbine Animal Hospital in June 1972. He is a 1969 honors graduate from Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine and did his undergraduate work at Ohio University. He is a member of Phi Zeta, the veterinary scholastic society and a Danforth scholar. He is a member of the American, Colorado, and Denver Veterinary Medical Societies, and a practitioner affiliate of the American Animal Hospital Association. He is also a full fellow in the Veterinary Laser Surgical Society. His passions in veterinary medicine include diseases of the ear and laser surgery. Outside of the office, he enjoys flying hot air balloons, fishing, golfing, dancing and spending time with his grandchildren. Lee and his wife Max have 2 adult children and are also the parents of 4 dachshunds, Sherman, Lily, Randolph and Stanley. Dr. Bregitzer continues to do missionary work with the Christian Veterinary Mission in both Africa and Nepal.

Dr. Karen Todd

Dr. Karen Todd has grown up around Columbine Animal Hospital, and is as an associate veterinarian. She graduated from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2002, and also earned her B.S. in Biology from the University of Oklahoma. Her pet family includes "Brinkley" a Great Dane and her cat, "Rocco". Outside of work, Karen enjoys spending time with her husband and little boys, as well as gardening and running.

Dr. Litto Suu
Dr. Litto Suu

Dr. Litto Suu is an associate veterinarian. She received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and BS from Colorado State University. She was born and raised in India, and moved to Colorado to complete her college education.She has a rambunctious, one-eyed bandit cat and a hyper, chocolate labrador, which were both adopted from Columbine Animal Hospital. In her spare time, she enjoys rock climbing and backpacking, but most of all, traveling to experience various cultures.

Dr. Todd Russell

Dr. Todd Russell is a vital member of our 24-hour emergency care team. He attended Michigan State University where he was an honors student majoring in zoology before he attended the Michigan State School of Veterinary Medicine. He has a special interest in ophthalmology and dermatology. His pet family includes Max, an 11-year old yellow lab mix and Tucker, a 9-year old chocolate lab. Todd’s outside hobbies include softball, volleyball, flag football, and water sports

Dr. Karen Coriden

Dr. Karen Coriden received her B.S. in Biology from Grinnell College in Iowa and her D.V.M. from the University of Illinois in 1976. Her pet family includes 3 dogs—"Sophie", "Whitney", and "Veda", and 8 cats. Karen has a special interest in geriatric medicine, feline medicine, as well as dentistry, and exotic animal medicine and surgery. Karen lives in Evergreen with her husband Mike, and has three daughters. Outside of veterinary medicine, Karen enjoys spending time with family, reading, and gardening.

Dr. Michelle Behrendt

Dr. Michelle Behrendt is part of our emergency staff, working some nights and weekends. She has a full time practice in Byers, Colorado. Her special interests in veterinary medicine include pediatrics, reproduction, and Chiropractic care. Michelle is a certified veterinary chiropractioner. Her pet family includes 2 greyhouds, 2 border collies, and 2 cats. Michelle has been a veterinarian for over 20 years, and is grateful that every morning, she gets to go to work.
