Dr. Albert graduated from Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1994. He practiced equine and large animal medicine in Kentucky upon graduation. He gained valuable emergency medicine and surgical experience while employed at the Greater Buffalo Veterinary Emergency Clinic and has been a small animal, avian and exotic doctor since 1995 and most notably was the veterinarian for the Buffalo Zoo. He was the former president of the Niagara Frontier Veterinary Society from 2010-2012. In 2013 he decided to increase his knowledge in alternative medicine and began to practice the ancient Chinese art of Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine.
Dr. Albert is a consultant to many rescue groups and animal sanctuaries and provides on site services to many exotic animals from llamas to tigers.His interests include zoo medicine, public speaking, working dogs and spending time with his wife Amy, our Hospital Administrator, and his three boys, Declan, Aidan and JT.
Dr. Stacey Sood was born and raised in Buffalo. She attended University at Buffalo and earned a B.S. in Biological Sciences and a Masters in Public Health. Her studies then took her to Tuskegee University School of Veterinary Medicine in Alabama, where she graduated with her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2010. Following graduation, she returned back to the Buffalo area to work in private practice. Dr. Sood’s professional interests include internal medicine, anesthesia, and preventative medicine. When not working, she enjoys reading, skiing, watching the Sabres, and walking her dogs. She lives in Cheektowaga with her husband, Rajeev, and their two dogs and five cats.read more
Dr. Spires was born and raised in Jackson, Mississippi. She lived there with her mom and two younger sisters as well as their family dog, Blaze, and cat, Kitty until attending Mississippi State University for both her undergraduate and veterinary degrees. She graduated in 2012 and relocated to Buffalo shortly thereafter, as she enjoys the cold. She now has three cats and enjoys reading, movies, and taking long walks outside on nice days.read more
Dr. Andritz grew up near Albany, New York. She attended Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine where she was very active in organized veterinary medicine as an executive board member of the Student American Veterinary Medical Association, and is currently a member of the AVMA. She received her DVM degree in May of 2013. She has a special interest in avian and exotic companion animal medicine and always enjoys meeting a new species of animal, although she still loves cats and dogs! She relocated to Buffalo from Charleston, West Virginia after working with small animals, birds and exotic pets for over a year. She is also currently completing a Masters in Public Health through the University of Minnesota.
In her spare time, she enjoys yoga, fly fishing, and hiking with her dog Zeus. Along with Zeus, she shares her home with Aoife and Odin the cats, Benedict the dwarf hamster, Mercury the crested gecko and an aquarium of very personable goldfish.
Amy graduated from Medaille College in 1993 with an AS in Veterinary Technology. She worked as a Licensed Veterinary Technician upon graduation and was promoted to a supervisory technician role in 1995. She became the Office Manager at All Creatures AnimalHospital upon its opening in 2003. While maintaining her career as an Lvt and Office Manager, she graduated from Daemen College in 2004, magna cum laude, with a BS and MS in Health Sciences and Physician Assistant studies. She was instrumental in opening City Creatures Animal Hospital as well and was promoted to the Hospital Administrator for both facilities in 2009. Presently, she manages both hospitals and fills in as a licensed veterinary technician when needed, in addition to working part-time as a Registered Physician Assistant. She works with her husband, Dr. Albert, in helping care for primates. She has also volunteered at the Buffalo Zoo.When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband, children and their German Shepherd and Boxer, Angel and Baxter.read more
Falon has wanted to become a Veterinary Technician since she was 9 years old when the pug that she loved dearly passed away. She grew up in the country and took it upon herself to make sure that the wildlife on her land were well cared for. She had a pet squirrel in addition to her menagerie including dogs, cats, birds, guinea pigs, rabbits, and chickens. She was accepted to the Medaille College Veterinary Technology program in 2007 and she graduated in 2010 with an Associate’s Degree in Veterinary Technology in addition to a Bachelor’s Degree in Veterinary Science. After college, she worked for an emergency veterinary hospital and a doggie daycare facility before starting at City Creatures in June of 2011. Falon was promoted to our Head Licensed Veterinary Technician in September of 2012 and then to our Office Manager position in April of 2015.read more
