Dr. Jeff Hogans is a general practitioner and co-owner of Carmel Valley Veterinary Hospital. Dr. Hogans has deep ties to the area and grew up in Carmel Valley.
Dr. Hogans attended the University of California at Davis and received his Bachelor's Degree in Biological Sciences in 1989. Dr. Hogans graduated with honors from UC-Davis. He continued his education at the University of California at Davis School of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Hogans graduated from veterinary school with highest honors; he earned a 3.97 GPA and was ranked 5th in his class of 127. He was awarded his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1989. Dr. Hogans' professional interests include interventional and diagnostic ultrasound, rigid and flexible endoscopy, laparoscopy and otorhinolarynology. In addition, he has completed continuing education courses in advanced abdominal ultrasound, advanced gastrointestinal flexible and rigid endoscopy and laparoscopy and laser surgery.
A member of numerous professional organizations, Dr. Hogans is a former vice-president and current member of the Monterey Bay Veterinary Medical Association. He is also a member of the California Veterinary Medical Association, the American Veterinary Medical Association and the SPCA of Monterey County.
Dr. Hogans and his wife, Dr. Loly Hogans, also a veterinarian, own Harden Ranch Veterinary Hospital in nearby Salinas. When not busy with his duties at the two hospitals, Dr. Hogans can usually be found outdoors, mountain biking, scuba diving, white-water rafting or hiking. At home, Dr. Hogans enjoys the companionship of Bailey, a Swiss mountain dog, a Chihuahua/Terrier mix named Audrey and a cat named Tigger. Dr. Hogans and his wife have two children, Christina and Ryan.
Dr. James Holt has cared for pets at Carmel Valley Veterinary Hospital since 1975. Born in Yakima, Washington, Dr. Holt lived all over the United States and Europe before settling in the Carmel Valley area in 1958. Dr. Holt attended the University of California, Davis, where he received a Bachelor's Degree in Animal Physiology. He went on to attend the UC Davis College of Veterinary Medicine and was awarded his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1974. His professional interests include soft tissue and orthopedic surgery.
Dr. Holt is a member of the Monterey Bay Veterinary Medical Association. When he's not busy at the hospital, Dr. Holt enjoys a number of outdoor sports, from road and mountain biking to kayaking, skiing and hiking. He can also be found in the kitchen cooking delicious meals or playing with his dog, Joey. Dr. Holt and his wife, Leslie, have two children, Brittany and Matt.
