Burlington Veterinary Center is proud to serve the Burlington, CT area for everything pet related. Our veterinary clinic and animal hospital is run by Dr. Richard Esherick, who is a licensed, experienced Burlington veterinarian.
Our team is committed to educating our clients on how to keep your pets healthy year round. Burlington Veterinary Center stays on top of the latest advances in veterinarian technology and above all, remembers that all pets (and their pet-parents) need to be treated with loving care in every situation.
Dr. Esherick graduated from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1989. He began his career at a large 24 hour care emergency and referral facility in West Hartford, Connecticut where he received extensive training and skill development in emergency medicine, surgery, and internal medicine.
Dr. Esherick has continued his education with advanced training in multiple disciplines of small animal veterinary medicine and surgery including: oncology, dermatology, dentisty, oral surgery, ultrasound, internal medicine and soft tissue surgery.
Dr. Esherick moved to the town of Burlington in 1992 and initiated his employment at the Burlington Veterinary Center in 1994 as the practice manager and associate veterinarian and subsequently purchased the practice in 1999. Dr. Esherick is the proud father of 2 exceptional, handsome young men, Nicholas and Benjamin, their two kitties Oscar (the three legged one) and the sweet, yet physically challenged Katie, and the boys prized posession and Dr. Esherick's near-constant companion, Abby the dog.
Dr. Esherick's personal interests include coaching his sons' sports teams, bicycling, swimming, golfing, skiing, yoga, guitar and motorcycling. Dr. Esherick is very grateful for and takes great pride in having the opportunity to serve the critters and their owners in the greater Burlington community.
