If you live in Overland Park or the surrounding areas in KS, then you have picked the perfect site to find a veterinarian. Dr. Brad Spain is a Kansas native and a graduate of the Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine. He brings over 15 years of experience in the veterinary field to his patients.
At Blue Valley Animal Hospital, we offer a full range of veterinary services to clients in the Leawood and Overland Park areas. We also provide emergency care and urgent care after regular business hours. Our vet services include:
Wellness Visits and Vaccinations
Cold Therapy Laser Treatments
Cat Laser Declaw Surgeries
We accept pet insurance as well as payments by cash, check, or credit card. If you are having trouble financing your pet's treatment, worry not. We can help with Care Credit so your pet does not have to go without the care he needs.
In addition to a full complement of veterinary services, Blue Valley Animal Hospital also offers cat and dog boarding, dog daycare, and grooming services. Boarding your pet while you are away from home is the best way to ensure that he is well-cared-for and safe in your absence, especially if he has medical needs that must be attended to. Our groomer Jen has more than 20 years of experience working with all breeds of dogs and cats; she has been with Blue Valley Animal Hospital for more than 15 years of her grooming career.
Grooming is a vital part of keeping your pet healthy and happy, and our groomer has the expertise to soothe an anxious pet during the grooming process. Make sure your pet's skin and coat are clean and his nails are kept trimmed with help from our groomer. If your pet has sensitive skin or other issues, we can help with that, too!
Here at Blue Valley Animal Hospital, we want to give you the tools to be the best pet parents you can be. Please feel free to bring up any questions or concerns you might have about the care of your pets with Dr. Spain. Protect your pet's health with regular wellness visits, exercise, good nutrition, and leave the rest up to us!
At Blue Valley Animal Hospital, we treat your pets like the valued family members they are.
Dr. Brad Spain grew up in Kincaid, KS and is a proud 2008 graduate of Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Passionate about providing the best quality care for your pet, Dr. Spain brings us seven years of experience in practice and his professional interests include small animal internal medicine, dermatology, and orthopedic surgery.
When Dr. Spain is not at the clinic, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends and his dog, Duff. Duff is a 6 year old Scottish Terrier who enjoys barking at his friends and going on long truck rides during storm season. During storm season, it's not uncommon for Dr. Spain to be out in search of tornadoes; storm chasing is his favorite (and riskiest!) hobby. The scariest moment in his storm chasing career was when he narrowly missed being crushed by a one ton hay bale during a severe storm in south east Kansas.
As the owner of Blue Valley Animal Hospital, Dr. Spain is committed to providing excellent care for you and your pet. Let him know how we can help you!
Dr. Mary Gardner grew up in the Blue Valley area on a small horse farm and has always had a love for animals, both large and small. She graduated from Kansas State College of Veterinary Medicine in 2011. After graduation, Dr. Gardner moved to Oklahoma and practiced for 3 years. During her years in practice, she has developed a special interest in dermatology and oncology.
During her free time outside the clinic, Dr. Gardner enjoys running, reading, playing sports, and spending time outdoors with her two daughters and her cat Mowgli.
She is excited to get back to her hometown and provide the best possible care for your pets here at Blue Valley Animal Hospital!
Dr. Kelsey Sparrow grew up just down the road from Blue Valley Animal Hospital with several dogs, guinea pigs, rats, and fish and is a graduate of Blue Valley High School. She graduated with her doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2017. Many of you may recognize her; she has been working at Blue Valley Animal Hospital during school breaks since January 2013. Dr. Sparrow has an interest in behavior, dentistry, internal medicine, and small mammal exotics. Her four-legged family members include her miniature Australian shepherds Lexis and Bella, and her guinea pigs, Coconut and Kiwi. In her spare time, Dr. Sparrow enjoys spending time with her family and friends, cooking, watching the Royals, riding horses, reading, and going to the dog park.read more
