Dr. Gillette is a California native, and grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area. She recently transplanted to Texas via North Dakota to escape the cold! Always having a passion for animals, she often played veterinarian as a child. She performed her first stuffed animal surgery at the age of 2, when she learned to thread a needle. She achieved her childhood dream after she graduated from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine and completed her clinical training at the University of Minnesota in 2012.
Dr. Gillette has a strong professional interest in Dermatology, Internal Medicine, Soft tissue surgery, and a love for all things feline. (Don’t worry Dr. Gillette loves our canine compadres too!) She has a passion for Animal Behavior and is Fear Free Certified. Her three pets include a sweet orange tabby kitty named Dijon, a sassy calico kitty named Dorothy Kate and an overly hyper German Shorthaired Pointer/Irish Setter Mix named Barinya. Dr. Gillette was promoted to Chief of Staff in January 2019.
Dr. Ashley Van De Steene joined Banfield Pet Hospitals in October 2018 after completing her clinical year at Texas A&M's College of Veterinary Medicine. She completed her pre-clinical course work at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in St. Kitts and Nevis, West Indies. Dr. Van De Steene earned her Bachelor's of Science Degree in Biology and in Environmental Science from the University of Houston-Main Campus. Currently, she is an active member in Texas Veterinary Medical Association and has an interest in veterinary dentistry, oncology and exotic animal medicine. When she's not traveling, she enjoys spending time with her family which includes two cats, Marley and Tiki, and a beard dragon, Lizzy.
