My name is Dr. Cassandra Johnson. I have always loved animals and medicine, and several of my first jobs were working with my mother who is a registered nurse. Therefore, I was exposed to the medical field very early on. I completed my undergraduate education in Animal Science at the University of Nevada Reno in 2001 and completed my DVM degree at Ohio State in 2005. I then entered and completed an internship and began working as a mixed animal practitioner after veterinary school. In 2008, I began a graduate program at the Mayo Clinic and worked as a small animal relief/part time veterinarian until completing the graduate program in 2014. I have a special interest in veterinary neurology, which is what I completed my graduate program in, but I also have interests in veterinary dentistry, nutrition, preventive medicine, and internal medicine. In my spare time, I train and compete horses, and I am also an avid musician. I currently have two cats, Simon and Sasha, and two horses, Ginnovi and Haja. I hope to get a dog soon, and maybe we will give agility a try!read more
My name is Dr. Austin and I am a graduate of Tuskegee University, class of 2011. I am extremely fortunate to say that I am living my childhood dream of becoming a veterinarian. I came in to this profession to be an advocate for our furry friends that cannot speak for themselves. I absolutely love what I do!
I strongly believe in preventative care because I see our animals as members of the family. My goal as a veterinarian is to educate my clients as much as possible, so their pets can live long, healthy lives. I have a special interest in companion animal behavior. I spent much of my time in veterinary school working with the local animal shelter and board certified veterinary behaviorists, training animals to help them become more adoptable and to prevent relinquishments due to inappropriate behaviors. In my spare time, I enjoy taking international cooking classes, traveling and doing anything outdoors. I look forward to meeting you and your babies.
My name is Dr. Sandra Lloyd, and I attended veterinary school at Oregon State University. I decided to become a veterinarian after working with a mobile horse veterinarian one summer and falling in love with both the challenges and the rewards of veterinary medicine. My professional interests include nutrition, dentistry, and dermatology, and I love to make lasting relationships with clients and their pets. I believe in preventative care, because it is the best way to catch diseases early and keep pets healthy. My own pets include a Beagle named Charlie and two cats named Ivory and Ebony (guess what colors they are!).
My name is Dr. Lauren Salgo. I was born and raised in Reno, Nevada and received my BS in Animal Sciences as well as my DVM from Oregon State University. My interest in veterinary medicine piqued in high school when I was doing an internship at a veterinary practice in Reno. I loved hanging out with animals all day and learning about what this exciting field had to offer. My interests include preventive care, dentistry, and internal medicine and I definitely get to put all of them into practice here at Banfield! I currently have one wonderful 18 year old cat named Sophie.
