Dr Rebecca Houck graduated from Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2007. Shortly after, she joined a Banfield Pet Hospital in Houston, Texas and practiced veterinary medicine there for four years before moving to Roanoke, Virginia. Once in Roanoke, she was promoted to Lead Doctor and then to Chief of Staff in 2011. Her interests include dermatology and animal behavior and one day she'd like to become boarded in one or both disciplines.
Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her husband of ten years, her two dogs (Penny and Delilah), her three cats (Maddy, Ichi, and Dash), and her Green-cheeked Conure (Kisuke). She is an avid creative fiction writer as well as a huge Transformers geek, spending much of her free time writing and tracking down vintage Transformers action figures.
Dr. Bryant grew up in Staunton, VA before heading to Virginia Tech where she earned her B.S. degree in wildlife science in 2012. She then went on to continue her education at the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine, earning her DVM in 2017. She has a passion for shelter medicine, wildlife medicine and exotic pet care. Dr. Bryant currently resides in Roanoke, and enjoys playing basketball, hiking, traveling, and spending time with her family (two and four-legged alike). Nikalai is her 5-year-old mixed breed pup who is currently awaiting the results from his Canine Genetic Analysis. We can't wait to see what mixed breeds have made up this perfect pooch!read more
