Dr. McLaughlin was born in Plainfield, New Jersey. He moved south and attended high school in Greensboro, North Carolina. Remaining in the state, Dr. Mac, as he is often called, attained his Bachelor of Science degree in zoology at North Carolina State University. In 1987, he graduated veterinary school at Tuskegee University with his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. Thereafter, he interned with the University of Tennessee and practiced veterinary medicine in Charlotte and Maryland. Dr. Mac returned to Charlotte where he currently resides with his son, Jeremy, and dog, Sunni. Dr. Mac's favorite thing about working for Banfield is the commitment to quality medicine, to providing exceptional service to clients and to supporting associates' education and growth. When not in the hospital, Dr. Mac can be found playing billiards or cheering on the Carolina Panthers.read more
Dr. Connelly grew up in Gastonia, NC and attended the Univeristy of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, receiving her B.S. degree in chemistry and a minor in music history. She attended Ross University for veterinary school and completed her clinical rotations at NC State University. She graduated veterinary school in 2006 and moved up to Chesapeake, VA where she worked at the Chesapeake Center Banfield. After starting a family, Dr. Connelly and her family decided to make the move back home to the Charlotte area. She loves building relationships with her hospital teammates and with pet parents and their furry companions. Dr. Connelly and her husband live in Mt. Holly with their four children, Nicholas, Gabriel, Chelsea, and Cameron, along with Pixel the goofy goldendoodle, Dory the very tolerant and often misplaced cat, Gertie the goffin cockatoo, and Daisy the parrotlet. In her free time, Dr. Connelly likes to cross-stitch, watch Disney movies, and read.
Dr. Ponds is a Charlotte, North Carolina native. She was born and raised in the Queen City where she completed her undergraduate education at NC A&T State University in 2004. In 2008, she graduated from Tuskeegee University with her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. Before returning to her hometown, Dr. Ponds interned with Garden State Veterinary Specialists in Eaton Town, NJ.
In 2009, Dr. Ponds began her career with Banfield by working with multiple hospital locations. This gave her the opportunity to reach many different clients and work with various wonderful professionals. Her favorite aspect of veterinary medicine is educating others about nutrition, geriatrics, and preventive medicine. Outside of the hospital, Dr. Ponds cares for her own crew of pets! Her dogs Shia, Desiree, Winston, and Bricks keep her busy as do her two cats Lefty and Mr. Harry Walter. Her personal interests include spending time at the beach or mountains - anything nature-oriented!
Dr. Paul is a son of a veterinarian. Graduated from the University of La Plata, Buenos Aires, Argentina, he has been with Banfield for 16 years. Father to two furry babies, Chiwee, a Rat-terrier, and Shadow, a long-haired Chihuahua mix. During his free time, Dr. Paul is an outdoorsman and enjoys everything from hiking to fishing. He is also a proud Panthers fan!read more
Originally a native New Yorker, Pamela moved to North Carolina prior to vet school and proudly considers herself a southern convert. Pamela completed her didactic veterinary education at St. George’s University and finished her clinical year of school at the University of Tennessee. She is passionate about building relationships with clients and their pets and helping enhance the human animal bond through quality medicine and client education. When she is not helping patients, Pamela enjoys riding her horse, practicing yoga, working out, and spending time with family and her dogs.read more
