Dr. Misty McNeil was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest and grew up in the community of Magnolia in Seattle. She graduated from Franklin High School and then attended Western Washington University where she obtained her BA in Psychology. While earning her degree she realized she wouldnt be happy doing anything other than being a veterinarian, a dream she had since a child.
After spending several years volunteering and working for various veterinary hospitals and shelters Dr. McNeil attended veterinary school at Washington State University. While there she helped start Washington State University's College of Veterinary Medicine radiology club, was a TA in the student surgical skills laboratory, and helped to bring an elective behavior course to the student curriculum. During her time in Pullman Dr. McNeil discovered her true passions within the veterinary field including surgery, internal medicine, ophthalmology, and behavior.
Dr. McNeil is thrilled to be back home in the Pacific Northwest. While not taking care of her patients she enjoys spending time with her husband hiking, backpacking, rock-climbing, and general adventuring. Dr. McNeil lives with her husband and 3 furry children, including a crazy border collie named Blaze, a spunky cairn terrier mix named Axel, and a judgmental cat named Shrimp.
My name is Piper Selmon and I am a 2015 graduate from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. I moved to Seattle in October after completing my clinical year of vet school at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, CO. Originally from San Francisco, I have also lived in San Diego, CA and Austin, TX before going to vet school on St Kitts in the Caribbean. As much as I enjoyed my time on the beach in warm weather, frequent visits to the Pacific Northwest over the past few years to see friends eventually caused me to fall in love with the area and the coffee! My two dogs, a Puggle and a Boston, seem to fit right in as well, and enjoy running around Green Lake and tagging along while I run errands in this pet friendly city. Travel is another passion of mine; I want to go everywhere! I had the fortunate experience to study in Europe, and have been to Australia, and Thailand as well. Next stop: Machu Picchu in Peru! I am proud to be joining the Banfield team, and look forward to being part of a community where the well being of our furry, four legged family is a priority.read more
