Dr. Heather Houseman
Dr. Heather Houseman

Dr. Houseman is originally from Syracuse, New York. She graduated as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from St. George�s University in Grenada, West Indies. She started with Banfield Pet Hospital as a veterinary technician from 2001-2004 and returned as a doctor in 2009. Her areas of interest include dentistry and exotic animal medicine. She has a large pet family including a dog (Ginuwine), cat (Irie), bearded dragon (Ziggy), chinchilla (Chilla), parakeet (Atreyu), and two guinea pigs (Shabba and Melvin). When she�s not at work she enjoys music concerts, bingo, bowling, ice skating, skiing and reading.

Dr. Heather Opitz

Dr. Opitz is originally from Minneapolis, Minnesota. She received her B.A. in English Literature from Bethel University in St. Paul, MN and attended the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine, receiving her veterinary degree in in 2009. Prior to pursuing veterinary medicine, Dr. Opitz spent a number of years working with at-risk youth. Dr. Opitz has a special interest in avian medicine and has worked with parrots and other birds in a variety of venues for more than 25 years. She joined the Banfield team in the summer of 2014. Currently, Dr. Opitz shares her life with 8 parrots and a Kerry Blue Terrier. When not at Banfield, Dr. Opitz serves as Medical Director for Metro Denver Parrot Rescue, an amazing 501c3 non-profit, matching parrots with quality loving homes. Despite her immersion in medicine, Dr. Opitz has remained passionate about literature and education and is an avid reader. She also enjoys hiking and spending time outdoors.

Dr. Penn Chinudomsub
Dr. Penn Chinudomsub

Dr. Penn grew up in southern California. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, then attended Oklahoma State University for her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. She joined Banfield in 2015, where her interests include surgery, physical rehabilitation, and shelter medicine. Her pet family includes a German Shepherd named Remmy and a cat named Lux. In her free time, Dr. Penn enjoys traveling abroad, photography, boating, and cooking.
