Gabriel Franca, DVM - Chief of Staff
Gabriel Franca, DVM - Chief of Staff

Dr. Franca graduated from the University of S�o Paulo Veterinary School, Brazil in 2003. He worked extensively with wildlife and exotic animals in a non-profit organization while in vet school and after graduation, would see a variety of animals. He has been happily working with Banfield since May 2013 and was promoted to Chief of Staff in October 2015. Dr. Franca has a grey cat named Zulu, a brown tabby named Kaya, Koopi, a yellow tabby who was born with congenital problems on his back legs and cannot use them, and a Chihuahua named Ramon. He also has frogs, snakes, and lizards. Dr. Franca's hobbies include hiking, camping, running, watching movies and reading "A Song of Ice and Fire" books.

Jennifer Barton, DVM
Jennifer Barton, DVM

Dr. Jennifer Barton is originally from Illinois and graduated from University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine in 2012. She completed an internship in Oregon in 2013, and moved to Southern California to practice with large and small animals. In 2015, she elected to focus on small animal medicine and surgery exclusively. Her professional interests include canine and feline lameness, soft tissue surgery, geriatric feline medicine, and promoting excellent preventative medicine. Dr. Barton shares her home with a very energetic Labrador named Ruger. She is also an avid equestrian and photographer in her spare time.

Kristina Chassie, DVM
Kristina Chassie, DVM

Growing up in the High Desert of Southern California, Dr. Chassie had always had a passion for animals, whether it be the ones on her family farm or the wild animals that ventured onto the property. She graduated California State University, San Bernardino with her degree in biology while working as a veterinary technician and a keeper at an exotic animal sanctuary. Dr. Chassie received her veterinary degree at Western University of Health Sciences. Her medical interests include zoonotic diseases, public health, preventative care, and surgery. In her off time, she enjoys rock climbing, spending time at the beach, and traveling. She has three of her own furry creatures: Kryptonite the pitbull, Lil' Guy the dauschund/chihuahua, and Cowboy the cat.
