She enjoys all asects of preventive medicine and soft tissue surgery. She also has an interest in acupuncture as a pain management tool. Tamaya grew up in California and is thrilled to be back on the West Coast. Outside of work she enjoys hiking, traveling, horseback riding, and water sports. Together with the

I grew up outside of the Portland area in Estacada, riding horses and raising farm animals which fostered my love for veterinary medicine. I attended Oregon State University for both undergraduate and veterinary school, where I graduated in 2013. I completed a one year equine surgery and medicine internship in Reno, NV and then
practiced mixed large animal in the greater Portland area. After a few months off and a lot of traveling, I am looking forward to gaining some new skills and broadening my experience in small animal medicine. Outside of work I ride horses, hike, rock climb and garden and I am passionate about mindfulness and minimalism (I live in a tiny house!).
I grew up in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. I received my Bachelor's in Organismal Biology from Portland State University and spent several years working in behavioral neuroscience research at Oregon Health & Science University before deciding what I really loved was medicine. I completed my DVM in 2016 at Oregon State University, and am so excited to finally be doing what I love! My 11-year-old cat Norris is pictured with me, and I have two more cats, Sigil and Oxbow, as well as an 8-year-old male poodrador (poodle-lab mix) named Bertie. I love exotics, and I've had Guinea pigs, lizards and birds in the past. I have many hobbies, but among my current favorites are knitting, crochet, calligraphy, wine, tabletop gaming, hiking, biking and backpacking.read more
