After graduation from Western University of Health Sciences in 2009, I joined private mixed animal practice where I really enjoyed working on all species. In 2012 I moved to Portland and have had the pleasure of working for Banfield since then. At Glisan St. Station, I have a great time working with a fantastic, caring team while performing quality medicine. I see all critters, from cats and dogs to small pocket pets and reptiles, and have a special passion for soft tissue surgery.read more
Originally from Missouri, I have lived in Oregon for over a decade and graduated from the College of Veterinary Medicine at Oregon State University in 2011. After graduation, I worked with a small animal practice in rural Northern California. While in California, I quickly gained experience in emergency veterinary medicine, soft tissue surgery and using ultrasonography. My family and I moved back to Portland in early 2014 and I have been working with Banfield Pet Hospital since that time. I enjoy providing excellent medical care for the pets and clients at Glisan Street Station. My special interests include internal medicine, soft tissue surgery and geriatric care. When not at work, I enjoy spending my time running after my two young boys, reading, camping, and hiking.read more

I moved to Portland almost three years ago shortly after earning my Bachelor of Science in biology from the College of Idaho. I also have a certificate in basic dog obedience training and behavior. I have always loved animal care and behavior, and was very excited to start working at Banfield. I was hired to open the Glisan Street Location two years ago and have been a veterinary assistant here ever since. I have come to think of this hospital as my second home and have established a familiar relationship with many clients and their lovable pets. I am currently attending school part time to become a certified veterinary technician and am progressing through the program easily due to my experience and support from my hospital leaders. I intend to stay with Banfield when I become a Certified Technician and continue my career in the ever exciting and changing veterinary medicine field. The best part of my job is seeing pets recover from illnesses, either chronic or acute, and keeping them calm in scary and stressful situations.
Kay comes from a long background of managerial experience and joined the Banfield Glisan Team in 2015. The Glisan team is very lucky to have such a devoted and compassionate Manager. She takes a special interest in the well-being of all associates and the clients. Kay's goal is to ensure the Glisan Team works efficiently and effectively to see all the patients that require care and to be there for the owners. She enjoys learning about the ins and outs of the veterinary world and loves cuddling with all the cute pets! In Kay's free time, she enjoys spending time with her loving husband, lab and watching football!
