Dr. Megan Taylor joined Banfield as an associate veterinarian in June of 2012. She was a part of the Banfield Student Job Program for 3 years while in veterinary school. Prior to joining the staff at Glen Carbon in October 2014, she worked at both the Manchester, MO and O'Fallon, IL locations. Dr. Taylor grew up in North St. Louis County and attended undergraduate classes at St. Louis Community College and University of Missouri St Louis. She graduated with her DVM from Oklahoma State University in May of 2012. Her favorite part of veterinary medicine is educating pet parents in preventative medicine. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, her cat "Newton," and participating in activities with her church.
Dr. Leah Sikes was born and raised in the Edwardsville/Glen Carbon area. She began her involvement in veterinary medicine in 2001 working as a veterinary assistant while obtaining her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville. After graduating Cum Laude and completing some graduate coursework, She then attended the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine and graduated in 2009 as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. She joined the Banfield team in 2012 at the South St. Louis location, and transferred to the Glen Carbon location in July of 2014.
She has volunteered over the years with various organizations, including the Treehouse Wildlife Center in Brighton, IL, which was one of her favorite experiences. Her favorite part of working as a veterinarian is having the opportunity to work with so many devoted pet owners who want the best care for their pets. She is particularly passionate about providing quality dental care for dogs and cats. Outside of work, Dr. Sikes enjoys kayaking and other outdoor activities, running, and spending time with her family and her two beloved cats. Gwendolynn is an orange tabby who is really dog stuck in a cat's body. Penelope is a white fluffy girl who has been blind since she was a kitten but can still swat a fly out of the air like a ninja cat.
