Gabriel Franca, DVM. Chief of Staff
Gabriel Franca, DVM. Chief of Staff

Dr. Franca graduated in 2003 from the University of S?o Paulo Veterinary School in Brazil. He worked extensively with wildlife and exotic animals in a non-profit organization while in vet school and after graduation, he would see a variety of animals and species. He has been happily working with Banfield since May 2013 and was promoted to Chief of Staff in Oct 2015. Dr Franca has many pets including Zulu, a grey cat, Kaya a brown tabby, Koopi, a yellow tabby who was born with congenital problems on his back legs and cannot use them, and Ramon, a Chihuahua. He also has frogs, snakes, and lizards. All of his pets are rescues from shelters or found in the streets (including the snakes!). Dr. Franca's hobbies include hiking, camping, running, watching movies and reading "A Song of Ice and Fire" books.

Sam Amirshahi, DVM

Dr. Sam Amirshahi (or Dr. Sam as he is commonly referred to) is a Southern California native. He received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in biology from California State University, Northridge. Following completion of his M.S. degree, Dr. Sam moved north to attend the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine. Upon completion of his veterinary degree, Dr. Sam returned to Southern California to pursue his career as a veterinarian. He joined the Banfield team in 2015 and has been treating pets in Orange County ever since.

Elana Maibor, DVM

Dr. Maibor was born and raised in Boston, MA. She moved to Southern California for veterinary school and graduated from Western University of Health Sciences with her DVM degree. After completing an internship in small animal medicine, Dr. Maibor joined the Banfield team in 2015.

Danielle Gorski, DVM

Dr. Gorski graduated from University of Minnesota in 2014 and has been with Banfield ever since. She has always had a deep love for animals and knew she wanted to be a veterinarian from a very young age. Dr. Gorski encourages preventive care and strives to keep her patients healthy with regular visits and routine exams. Dr. Gorski has volunteered with many low-cost spay/neuter campaigns both in the United States and in Argentina, Costa Rica, Panama, and Nicaragua. She is passionate about making veterinary care accessible to those who have limited resources. Dr. Gorski lived in Argentina for 3 years before attending veterinary school and is fluent in Spanish. She currently lives at home in California with her husband, daughter, 2 rescue dogs and 2 rescue cats.
