Dr. Smith
Dr. Smith

Dr. Amanda Smith graduated from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine in May 2013. She has been an Associate Veterinarian for the Banfield Pet Hospital since graduation and has developed interests in primary care, soft tissue surgery, and dentistry. She has a passion for educating clients about common diseases affecting dogs and cats and how to prevent them. Dr. Smith has 3 furry children including Brickley, a 3 year old Australian Shepherd, Shady, a 9 year old German Shepherd, and Pedro, a black and white Domestic Shorthair cat. Her interests outside veterinary care include competitive swimming and playing sports, spending time with her family and friends, taking her dogs to the beach, and cooking.

Dr. Garai

Dr. Rachel Garai is a graduate of Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. She completed her clinical veterinary year at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She also had received her B.S. in Pre-Veterinary Medicine with a minor in International Studies at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Dr. Garai has completed advanced training in reproductive management and technology, including artificial insemination, in vitro fertilization, and embryo transfer. Before veterinary school, she lived in South Africa for 5 years working with wildlife as a professional field guide specializing in animal behavior, and the Big Five game species (elephants, lions, leopards, buffalo, and rhino). Dr Garai is passionate about working together with pet owners to develop well-rounded preventative care plans in the early stages of your pets lives, and also enjoys performing soft tissue surgery. She is a dog lover and has 2 pitbull mixes, Nevi (4 years old) and Yzma (3 years old). Her hobbies include beach volleyball, western horseback riding, and hiking with her dogs.
