Dr. Vigil grew up in the Austin area and have always had a passion for animals as long as she can remember. Growing up, she had an abundance of pets in the house, ranging from dogs, cats, fish, frogs, turtles, gerbils, and hamsters. Always being around animals influenced her strong dedication to protecting animal welfare and desire to help speak for the unspoken.
While attending college, she went to schools that were close to the beach due to her love for the water. She attended Texas A&M in Corpus Christi and then headed to the Caribbean on the small island of St. Kitts to attend Ross University Veterinary School. During her time in school, she spent time working at animal shelters and as a veterinary technician. Her clinical year was spent at Texas A&M University where she found lasting relationships with future colleagues of hers, and developed her interest in small animals and non-avian exotics.
After graduating, she moved back to the Austin area and practiced for four years with Banfield, and spent a year specializing in hospice and at home euthinasia. She is now back at Banfield at the Cypress Creek Location. Dr. Vigil enjoys traveling, spending time with family, and listening to music and concerts. She enjoys educating clients about their pet's health, and works with non-avian exotic pets.
She has a small zoo at her house. She currently has two dogs, an American Staffordshire named Bowser and an American Bulldog/Australian Shepherd mix named Dakota; two Flame Point cats ? one that is diabetic named Pumpkin and a Caribbean one named Ziggy. She also has a bearded dragon lizard named Puff.
Dr. Nguyen grew up in the French speaking part of Switzerland and moved to California in 1999. He graduated from UC Davis in biochemistry and molecular biology in 2003. After working for a small biotechnology company, his interest in animal care led him to Western University of Health Sciences where he earned his degree in veterinary medicine in 2011. He then pursued a one year internship in emergency medicine before joining a general small animal hospital in San Diego.
In 2017, Dr. Nguyen moved to North Austin with his wife and joined Banfield to continue to provide excellent preventive care medicine to the community. His interests are diverse but he enjoys traveling, photography, good food and live music.
