Dr. Rebecca Carey
Dr. Rebecca Carey

Dr. Rebecca Carey spent most of her childhood in Philadelphia and Washington, D.C. She gradually flew south to finish undergraduate school at Clemson University in South Carolina and veterinary school at the University of Florida. Graduating in 2007, she was the student ambassador of the American Association of Feline Practitioners and helped to run the student driven spay/neuter clinic, Operation Catnip. To this day, surgery is still her passion. Dr. Carey worked for Banfield in the Charlotte market for one and a half years before chartering the Blakeney location with Dr. Clay Hellner until they sold it back to Banfield. She is currently as associate veterinarian and very happy spending a little more time at home with her two children. Her veterinary interest include soft tissue surgery,endocrinology and primary care. Despite loving cats, she recently acquired severe adult onset of asthma towards cats and can no longer offer veterinary services to her feline patients.

Dr. Kerri Goodson
Dr. Kerri Goodson

Southern born and raised, Dr. Kerri Goodson graduated from Columbia College in South Carolina in 2002 with a bachelor's degree in Biology and her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Georgia in 2006. Dr. Goodson joined the Banfield team in 2007, but became a part of the Blakeney family in 2013. Dr. Goodson has a passion for preventive care and internal medicine. Dr. Goodson enjoys spending time with her husband, Jamal, and their three children, Sophia, Zade and Selma. Dr. Goodson also enjoys cooking and going to cardio funk class.

Dr. Ashley Hirst - Flinn
Dr. Ashley Hirst - Flinn

Dr. Ashley Hirst received her bachelor's degree in Animal Science from the University of Florda in December 2008 and her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Louisiana State University in May 2013. Born and raised in Florida, Dr. Hirst decided to explore other parts of the southeast following graduation and moved to Charlotte, NC with her husband, Jason. They are now the proud parents of one daughter as well as three fur children. The now Dr. Flinn has been with the Banfield family since June 2013 when she joined the Blakeney team.

Charlotte Martensson von Gaso
Charlotte Martensson von Gaso

Dr. Martensson von Gaso is originally from Sweden. Her family moved to the United States when she was 5. She graduated from Florida State University in 2004 with a Bachelor's degree in science and from Szent Istvan Veterinary University in Budapest, Hungary in 2011. Before making her way back to Charlotte she spent 5 years in Germany working under a specialist for small animal medicine. She enjoys aspect of her job and treats each patient as if they were her own pet. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family.

Joy Quang (Practice Manager)
Joy Quang (Practice Manager)

Joy Quang immigrated to the United States in 1978 with her family. She grew up in Iowa and attended college in Colorado. Joy received her bachelors degree at Colorado University and her associates of science in veterinary technology at the Bel Rea Institute in Denver Colorado. For the majority of her career she worked as a veterinary technician at a specialty practice in Ohio and academia at The Ohio State University. She has a strong interest in small animal internal medicine. In the past few years, Joy has expanded her veterinary career into management and is the current Practice Manager at Blakeney in Charlotte NC. Joy enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoys cooking and her favorite dog breed are dachshunds.
