Animal Medical Clinic of Gulf Gate is a veterinary facility driven by compassion, trust, and a high level of clinical expertise. Located in Sarasota, FL, Drs. Stephanie Lantry and Laurie Putnam, as well as the rest of our hospital team, are dedicated to keeping the dogs and cats in our community healthy, happy, and by your side for a lifetime.

We are a full-service smallanimal practice, meaning we offer everything from routine wellness care to advanced surgical procedures, as well as boarding and bathing services, and everything in between. All of these services are performed by our highly skilled and personable hospital team and supported by a fully-equipped facility with the latest veterinary advancements and technology.

Dr. Laurie Putnam
Dr. Laurie Putnam

Dr. Laurie Putnam was born in New York City and grew up in White Plains, NY. She graduated from Binghamton University with a Bachelor of Science in 1992. After two years in a graduate program at the University of Rhode Island in Aquaculture, she earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Cornell University in 1998. Attending annual Veterinary conferences in Orlando and visits to Sarasota led her to love this area. After practicing in Ct, her first year, she moved to Florida in 1999. She has practiced in the Sarasota area ever since both as a full time and part time associate and most recently as Veterinarian and Medical Director at Suncoast Humane Society in Englewood. Since 2004, she has worked with Dr. Lantry and the late Dr. Nick as a relief Vet. Dr. Putnam spends her free time with her family and two cats.

Dr. Stephanie Lantry

Dr. Lantry, a Wisconsin native, earned a Bachelor of Science degree in 1995 from the University of New Hampshire . She was an Animal Science Major and completed an Honors Thesis in Reproductive Physiology. She then went on to graduate from Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1999. She completed her DVM with a thesis on Environmental Toxicology in Sea Turtles. Dr. Lantry then moved to Sarasota in June of 1999 and has worked at the Animal Medical Clinic ever since. She spends her free time with her family and pets.
