Dr. David Graeff
Dr. David Graeff

Dr. Graeff was born and raised in the small town of Osborn, Missouri, 90 miles south of Iowa. He attended the University of Missouri at Columbia for his college education and received a B.S. degree in Biochemistry before doing graduate work in animal nutrition. He graduated as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1983. He came to Iowa upon his graduation and in 1984 moved to Cedar Rapids to work as a veterinarian. He became owner of Animal Care Hospital, previously known as Anthony Animal Hospital in 1986. Dr. Graeff is past president of the Kiwanis Club of Cedar Rapids and past president of the Board of Directors of the Cedar Rapids Area Friends of the Zoo. He has been a volunteer for the Hugh O’Brian Youth Foundation and the Boy Scouts Veterinary Explorer Post. He has served as a volunteer classroom business consultant in the Junior Achievement Project Business program and was an international exchange professional to Tanzania as a part of the Rotary International Group Study Exchange. He is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the American Animal Hospital Association and the Linn County Veterinary Medical Association. He is a member of Immaculate Conception Church. Dr. Graeff has three step children - Colleen, Craig and Greg. He likes to play golf and bridge. His favorite sports teams are the Missouri Tigers and the Kansas City Royals. He and Kathy have a black female cat named Natalie Coal.

Dr. Laura Bloomfield
Dr. Laura Bloomfield

Dr. Bloomfield was born in Sigourney, Iowa and grew up on a farm in northeast Missouri. She was active in 4-H and band and graduated from Scotland County High School. She attended the University of Missouri at Columbia where she was president of the Biochemistry Club and active in the Pre-Vet Club. She obtained a B.S. degree in 1994 in Biochemistry with a minor in Rural Sociology. She attended the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Missouri and graduated in 1998. In veterinary school she was class president, served on the Dean’s Student Advisory Committee and was active in the Mule Club. After graduation, Dr. Bloomfield was employed at the General Veterinary Clinic in Monroe City, Missouri as a mixed animal practitioner. In June of 1999 Dr. Bloomfield moved to St. Louis, Missouri and joined the Banfield Pet Hospital as a small animal practitioner. In March of 2002 Dr. Bloomfield became an associate veterinarian at Animal Care Hospital. She enjoys crafting, quilting and fishing.
