We’re excited to welcome Susan E. Davis, PT to Veterinarians.com! Davis, a licensed Physical Therapist, will write and publish articles about physical therapy for your pets.
Fidose of Reality recently named Davis one of the top 12 women in the pet industry in 2014. Davis is known for her self-published book Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation for Animals: A Guide for the Consumer. She is also the owner of Joycare Onsite, LLC, a past member of the American Physical Therapy Association and an active member of the International Association for Veterinary Rehabilitation and Physical Therapy. Davis received her Bachelor of Science degree and Post-Graduate Certificate in Physical Therapy from Northwestern University’s The Feinberg School of Medicine in 1977.
Davis worked in hospitals and her own private practice for the first 30 years of her career. She specialized in spinal evaluation and intervention, as well as limb lengthening and skeletal deformity rehabilitation for human patients. In 2008, she transitioned into the veterinary world after having completed coursework and training in canine rehabilitation. Her current practice is Joycare Onsite, LLC providing Physical Therapy to pets in their home, clinics, animal shelters, farms and zoos. Davis works with dogs, cats, rabbits, birds, farm animals, exotics and wildlife. She devotes one day per week to pro bono care at the Monmouth County SPCA.
