Thank you for your interest in VCA Asher Animal Hospital. We have been serving the Redding community and the surrounding area from the same location on Hilltop Drive for over 40 years.

Knowing that emergencies can happen any time, our hospital features an attendant and doctor on the premises 24 hours a day. If you have an after-hours emergency, please call ahead so we may be prepared for your arrival.

Larry Correia, DVM

Larry Correia, DVM

Medical Director
School: Washington State University

Dr. Correia grew up and went to school in the Pacific Northwest. He received his D.V.M. from Washington State University in 1985. Upon his graduation, Dr. Correia came to Redding to work at VCA Asher Animal Hospital. Over the years he has attended various Continuing Education courses and spent time with veterinary surgeons to pursue his interest in veterinary surgery. He is now our orthopedic and technical soft tissue surgeon.

Amanda Bork, DVM

Amanda Bork, DVM

Associate Veterinarian
School: Colorado State University

Dr. Bork was born here in Redding, CA and was raised on a farm in Palo Cedro. Her many years in 4-H and time spent with her animals at home gave her a love for veterinary medicine at an early age. She went on to earn a B.S. degree in Animal Science at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, where she also met her husband Tim. In college, Dr. Bork started working as a companion animal veterinary technician, and between her undergraduate and graduate studies she worked here at VCA Asher. Dr. Bork attended the Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences and earned her DVM in 2010. In July of 2010, Dr. Bork moved back to Northern California with her husband and son, and happily accepted a position as an associate veterinarian at VCA Asher once again. Her professional interests include pain management, anesthesia, and canine/feline rehabilitation therapy. Dr. Bork�s free time is spent with her family, as well as her dogs Spike and Cinder, and her cat Munchkin.

Caren Osgood, DVM

Associate Veterinarian
School: Kansas State University

Dr. Caren Osgood grew up in Oregon, then earned her BS in Biological Sciences at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. She attended veterinary school at Kansas State university, and earned her DVM degree summa cum laude. In addition, she has completed an internship program at a VCA specialty hospital in Sacramento. Her special interests include both orthopedic and soft tissue surgery and exotic pets. Dr. Osgood's pets are Ziggy, an American Pit Bull Terrier, Riley, a mixed breed cat, and Naga, a ball python. When not working, she enjoys bicycling and arts and crafts.

Dennis Grummitt, DVM

Associate Veterinarian
School: Iowa State University

Dr. Grummitt graduated from Iowa State University in 1965 and practiced at the Berkley Dog and Cat Hospital until January 1966. He then moved to the Menlo Park Mid-Peninsula Animal Hospital where he practiced until 1978. In 1979 he moved to Redding with his family and started Alpine Animal Hospital. Dr. Grummitt merged with the staff at VCA Enterprise Animal Hospital in November 1999. In July of 2001 he and the staff from VCA Enterprise Animal Hospital moved into VCA Asher Animal Hospital. His jack russell terrier�s name is Lucy.

Jaclynn Imai, DVM

Jaclynn Imai, DVM

Associate Veterinarian
School: Western University of Health Sciences

Dr. Imai was born and raised in San Jose, California. She earned a B.S. in Biology at Humboldt State University and went on to receive her D.V.M. degree from Western University of Health Sciences in southern California in May of 2007. Dr. Imai has a special interest in wildlife medicine and loves working with exotic big cats like tigers and lions. She also enjoys backpacking, hiking, reading, and lounging around. Her sidekicks are Midori and Whiskey Sour.

Kara Breeding, DVM

School: Western University of Health Sciences

Dr. Breeding was born in Oregon, but attended high school in Redding. She completed her Bachelor of Arts at University of California, Santa Barbara in 2001, and earned her DVM at Western University in 2009. In addition, she completed a year long internship at a Specialty Hospital outside of Denver, Colorado. Her special interests include surgery, dentistry, and urgent care. When not at work, "Dr. B." enjoys hiking, travel, reading, yoga, and spending time with her dogs Bailey and Rudder.

Dr. Eibert is our Board Certified Internal Medicine Specialist. She received her D.V.M. from University of Missouri in 1993, graduating Magna Cum Laude. Advanced training included a one-year internship at Auburn University and a three-year residency in small animal internal medicine at Kansas State University. Dr. Eibert also has a Master of Science degree and is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Medicine.
Dr. Eibert has been on staff at VCA Asher since the fall of 1997. Special interests include feline medicine, infectious disease, and critical care. She also enjoys working with guinea pigs, rabbits, chinchillas, and rats.

Dr. Caraway attended Kansas State University where she received a B.S. in animal science and completed her D.V.M. degree in May 2003. While she loves the Midwest, a desire to return to California led her to the internship program here at VCA Asher Animal Hospital. After completing our one-year internship program in June 2004, she stayed on staff as a General Practitioner. Dr. Caraway enjoys practicing small animal medicine and surgery and has a special interest in veterinary dentistry. She also enjoys working with several exotic species including guinea pigs, rabbits, chinchillas, rats, and birds. Her hobbies include horseback riding, piano, violin, and canine agility. Sarah Mathews, DVM

Associate Veterinarian
School: University of California, Davis

Dr. Mathews grew up in the Bay Area, but became very familiar with the Redding area at a very early age since family vacations were spent house boating on Lake Shasta on a yearly basis. Her family moved up to Redding during her freshman year in college and she started working at VCA Asher Animal Hospital as a veterinary assistant in 2005. Dr. Mathews completed her undergraduate training at UC Davis where she earned a B.S. in Animal Science in 2006. She then went on to attend veterinary school at the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine. She earned her D.V.M and graduated in the top 10% of her class in 2010. Dr. Mathews then completed a 1 year rotating internship in a 24 hour emergency and specialty referral hospital at Animal Specialty Group in Los Angeles, CA. After completing her internship in June 2011, Dr. Mathews eagerly moved back up to Redding and started working as a veterinarian here at VCA Asher Animal Hospital. She is very happy to be back in the North State and to be working with her Asher family again. Her special interests include feline medicine, internal medicine, and nutrition. She also enjoys critical care and ophthalmology. Her hobbies include hiking, playing sports (especially volleyball, basketball, and softball), practicing yoga, dancing, cooking, and pretty much doing anything outdoors. She has a beautiful orange tabby named Maggie, a long-haired calico named Mona, and cute little grey and white kitty named Gemmie.

Susan Tangeman, DVM

Associate Veterinarian
School: University of California, Davis

Dr. Tangeman graduated from the University of California College of Veterinary Medicine in Davis in 1988. After completing a large animal surgery internship at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada, she returned to southern California to practice equine medicine. Soon she began to miss the north state and moved north to join a mixed animal practice. This led to a strong interest in small animal medicine and brought her to VCA Asher Animal Hospital in 1994. In 2003, she participated in the Don Low Practitioner Fellowship program at U.C. Davis in the ophthalmology department. Her cat�s name is George and her chihuahua's name is Umi
