We are an emergency clinic operating at night, on weekends, and on holidays. Our goal at VCA Animal Emergency Center of Gwinnett is to provide compassionate care of the highest quality for your pet. Our caring and knowledgeable team of veterinarians, technicians, assistants, and support staff honor our commitment to provide excellent client service and provide the highest standards of medicine. Our hospital functions as an extension of your family veterinarian by keeping you and your doctor informed and involved in the care of your pet. VCA Animal Emergency Center of Gwinnett provides emergency care during nights, holidays, and weekends. Our hospital uses the latest technology for diagnostics, surgery, and life saving care.

Todd M. Nizialek

Medical Director
Dvm, University of Georgia

Dr. Nizialek received his BS in Zoology (magna cum laude) at Duke University and went on to attend veterinary school at the University of Georgia where he graduated (summa cum laude) in 1997. After working for several small animal hospitals, Dr. Nizialek joined Vca Animal Emergency Center of Gwinnett in May of 2004.

Dr. Nizialek is married with two wonderful children and has two small mixed breed dogs, Max| and Ruby. He enjoys coaching his son in baseball and is an avid sports fan.

Dr. Nizialek's special interests include all aspects of emergency medicine.

Rebecca Anderson

Associate Veterinarian
Dvm, University of Georgia

Dr. Anderson received her BS in Animal Science (magna cum laude) from Clemson University in 1998. She went on to attend veterinary school at the University of Georgia and graduated (cum laude) in 2001. Dr. Anderson did her internship at Veterinary Specialists of Rochester/Pittsford Animal Hospital and joined Vca Animal Emergency Center of Gwinnett in 2002.

Dr. Anderson has one child and 5 cats, including a retired resident blood donor.

In her spare time she enjoys cooking, exercising, and spending time with her son.

Dr. Anderson's professional interests include geriatric cats and feline shock resuscitation.

Kevin Nix

Associate Veterinarian
Dvm, University of Georgia

Before moving to Georgia to pursue a degree in veterinary medicine, Dr. Nix received his BS in Psychology from Hendrix College in Arkansas. Later, in 2009, Dr. Nix graduated cum laude from the University of Georgia's College of Veterinary Medicine. He went on to complete an internship at Veterinary Specialty Hospital of the Carolinas in Cary, North Carolina. Since then, Dr. Nix has worked as an emergency veterinarian in Georgia and proudly joined the Vca Animal Emergency Center of Gwinnett family in July of 2012.

Dr. Nix is married with two sons and currently has two dogs and nine cats. He enjoys spending his free time relaxing at home with his family.

Dr. Nix’s professional interests include trauma and emergency surgery.
