Dr. Ferreira and her team take great pride in providing your pets with the most personalized, compassionate and up-to-date care possible.
Preventive health care, including regularly-scheduled physical exams, vaccinations, heartworm and tick-borne disease testing and prevention comprise the cornerstone of wellness care to maximize your pet's quality of life and longevity. Our warm, friendly environment helps to keep your pets as happy and relaxed as possible, so that their experience is positive--and we enjoy bribing them with treats at each visit to help keep it that way.
We invite you to call or stop by anytime to introduce yourself and your pets-- no matter how busy we may be, there is always time for a dog biscuit, cat treat, or a little TLC, to get things started off on the right paw!
Dr. Paula Ferreira
Dr. Paula Ferreira obtained her veterinarian degree from the Universidade Federal Rural do Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. Upon arriving in the United States, she successfully passed the National board of veterinary medicine exam (N.A.V.L.E.) and the 1-year E.C.F.V.G. program (Education Comission for Foreign Veterinary Graduates) at the University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri.
Dr. Ferreira has practiced rural veterinary medicine in the Amazon and urban medicine in Rio de Janeiro, New York, and now Miami. After working at a large general veterinary practice in Miami for 7 years, she decided to go after her dream of building a veterinary hospital where she can practice the best quality medicine in a modern facility while providing personalized patient care.
Dr. Ferreira has special interest in holistic medicine - she studied veterinary acupuncture at I.V.A.S. (International Veterinary Acupuncture Society, Houston, Texas) and has been practicing it along with traditional veterinary medicine with great success for many years.
Dr. Ferreira has her own 2 dogs and 2 cats to keep her grounded.
