With over 20 years of professional experience in veterinary medicine, Dr. Patricia Pagel offers the patients and clients of Cole Park Veterinary Hospital a dedication to animal wellness.
Beginning her career as a graduate of the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine at Virginia Tech (1986), Dr. Pagel has invested many years in providing animal healthcare. She has a special interest in geriatric patients and strives to improve their quality of life as the aging process unfolds. For difficult cases, Dr. Pagel finds that it can be helpful to use an integrative treatment approach including acupuncture, Chinese herbal therapy, and orthopedic manipulation. She is a certified veterinary acupuncturist (IVAS 1992). Dr. Pagel is open to the use of essential oils and flower essences , especially for cases that have an emotional component to the illness and she is open to (but does not practice) homeopathy.
Dr. Pagel also enjoys working with “pocket pets” such as rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, gerbils and the occasional beloved mouse or rat. (They are really very sweet!)
She and her husband, Robert Smith, are the proud parents of 5 dogs, 3 cats and 3 parrots.
Dr. DrokeDr. Michelle Droke is a 2000 graduate of Texas A&M's College of Veterinary Medicine. She and her husband are both originally from Texas and have been here in North Carolina since 2002. Their family includes 2 cats, a German Shepherd and a Pug. Dr. Droke is a graduate of the Chi Institute and is a certified small animal Acupuncturist. Her other professional interests include surgery and geriatric small animal medicine. Outside of work her interests include hiking, yoga and reading.
Dr. Harris graduated from VA-MD Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 2001. She has been at CPVH since early 2004 after working at a large practice outside the Washington D.C. area. She enjoys all aspects of internal veterinary medicine and has worked with many zoo and wildlife species ranging from dolphins to pandas. Dr. Harris owns a pittbull/lab mix named Marley and two cats, Otto and Edie. She enjoys hiking, biking, kayaking and is an avid music fan.read more
