We pledge and guarantee that we will always do our very best to serve you and to provide your pet with the care that they deserve!
Brassfield Animal Hospital was founded by Dr. Hunter Hodges and Dr. Ralph Yerex in 1997 to provide medical, surgical, boarding and grooming services for the Greensboro Triad area. Our goal is to provide the highest quality care, excellent service and a friendly environment in which to take care of your pet. Our Doctors are very easy to talk to and enjoy getting to know all family members.
Dr. Hunter Hodges
Dr. Hodges graduated from Tuskegee University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1997 and shortly afterwards opened Brassfield Animal Hospital with Dr. Ralph Yerex.
He showed horses competitively while growing up in Virginia until moving to North Carolina for college. He has 2 daughters, 2 dogs and several horses. His wife continues to ride and show in the Hunter/Jumper circuit along with one of their daughters.
His interests are Animal Chiropractic and Acupuncture. He received his acupuncture training and certification from I.V.A.S. in Calgary, Canada in 2000 and his chiropractic training and certification from Options for Animals in Wellsville, Kansas in 2010.
Dr. Ralph Yerex
Dr. Yerex graduated from University of Wisconsin River Falls in 1984 with Honors with a degree in Biochemistry.
He then attended Glasgow University Veterinary School in Glasgow Scotland and graduated in 1989. James Herriott, author of all creatures Great and Small, attended Glasgow University Veterinary School. He was lucky to meet him on a few occasions. Both his parents attended St. Andrews University in Scotland. During his five years in Scotland he was able to meet many people and travel to different countries.
He returned and spent a year at The Ohio State University College of Veterinary medicine in the visiting scholar program. He then entered private practice, finally opening a practice with Dr. Hodges in 1997.
He is married to Sue Yerex, has 1 daughter, four dogs one cat and one lizard.
His family fosters dogs for Animal Rescue & Foster Program (arfpnc. com). They also volunteer at the International Civil Rights Museum. Sue sings with Spiritual Renaissance Singers of Greensboro (srsg99. com). They are also active with The Buffalo Soldiers Motorcycle Club, of which Dr. Yerex is a member. Dr. Yerex and his family enjoy riding his motorcycle, gardening, hiking or taking their "pack" out for a walk. Basically, just enjoying what Greenboro and North Carolina have to offer.
Amanda Prejean, Receptionist
I moved to Greensboro from Frederick, Maryland in 2009 with my husband, 2 children, 2 dogs & 2 cats. I have been caring for animals since 2000. I have helped in every aspect of the hospital scene from kennel assistant, veterinary assistant and now a receptionist.
I am enjoying meeting and working with all of the wonderful families at Brassfield since starting here in 2009.
Cindi Mounce, Veterinary Assistant
I have been in the veterinary field since 2005, and have been with Brassfield since April 2011. I was born & raised here in Greensboro NC and like to spend my free time with 2 cats, 1 dog, friends and family. I love working at Brassfield and caring for your pets, and have hopes to become a dog trainer in the future.
Diane Osborne, Kennel Assistant
I've been working at Brassfield since September 2007. I have 1 greyhound, 2 cats and several fish. I enjoy drawing and listening to music in my spare time. I also enjoy chatting with my friends online.
