This Banfield Hospital offers the highest standard of medical, surgical and preventive care for your Pet. Our caring staff, innovative approach, and full-service medical facility enable us to consistently provide Pets with the same level of care we want for ourselves.

New clients are warmly welcomed. Our Optimum Wellness Plans provide all the recommended preventative care your Pet needs to live a longer, happier life. Free office visits are included with Wellness Plan membership; you never have to hesitate to bring your Pet in!

This hospital is open from 7 am - 9 pm, seven days a week, to serve your Pet's preventive care and medical needs. We are located on the first floor of the Spruce Tree Center at the corner of University and Snelling. We have covered, validated ramp parking for your comfort and convenience.

Routine blood work, urine and fecal testing, and ear cytology are all performed in house, so you don't have to wait as long for results! We are able to run blood work the same morning as surgery to help make anesthesia as safe as possible for your pet.

Our state of the art surgery suite, anesthesia machines, and trained staff allow our doctors to perform surgeries safely and efficiently. Our surgery pets have physical examinations and blood work before their procedure, and have IV fluids running during the procedure. Our certified and trained technicians perform anesthesia and help your pet recover.

Dr. Melody Pust

Dr. Melody Pust

Dr. Pust was born and raised in Sidney, Montana on wheat farm/beef ranch. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Bethel College in St Paul, MN and went on to graduate from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine in 2000.

Dr. Pust worked in mixed animal practice in Calhan, CO for 1 year where she developed experience in small animal surgery and equine medicine. She then moved to Hazard, KY and worked part-time in a small animal clinic for 7 years with specialization in small animal surgery and emergency procedures. She also owned an ambulatory equine practice providing medical and surgical care throughout six counties in Eastern Kentucky for 8 1/2 years. While in Kentucky, Dr. Pust also worked as a relief DVM covering a wide variety of clinic settings for 4 years. She also specialized in spay/neuter surgery along with wide variety of orthopedic and soft tissue surgical procedures.

Dr. Pust then moved to MN and has been working at Banfield for 3 years with specialization in surgery.
In her time away from the hospital she enjoys volunteering at a horse rescue to keep up her equine medical skills and spending time with her daughter.

Dr. Anne Lottie

Dr. Anne Lottie

Dr. Lottie was born and raised in Plymouth, MN. She received a bachelor of arts degree in biology from the University of Minnesota Morris in 2003. She later attended veterinary school at the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine and graduated with her doctorate in May of 2009. Dr. Lottie has been an associate veterinarian with Banfield since September 2009. Her special veterinary interests include dentistry, feline medicine, nutrition, internal medicine, dermatology and geriatric pet care. She loves forming long lasting relationships with her patients and partnering with her clients to provide their pets with the best care. Her personal pets include a domestic short haired cat named Tigger, a french bulldog named Lefty and a norwegian fjord horse named Hasse. Outside of work, Dr. Lottie enjoys traveling with her husband, Greg, who is also a veterinarian, camping, horseback riding, bird watching and spending time with family & friends. Dr. Lottie is a member of both the Minnesota Veterinary Medical Association and the American Veterinary Medical Association.

Tracy Stein-Uhl

Tracy Stein-Uhl

Dr. Stein is a recent transplant from sunny California. She graduated from UC Davis with an M.S in Animal Science in 2001 with an emphasis in Equine Reproduction. She continued at UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine graduating in 2004.

She completed an equine internship at Loomis Basin Veterinary Hospital 2004-2005. After her internship she went into mixed animal practice from 2005-2007 and then into small animal general practice from 2007-2009. From 2009-2011 Dr. Stein worked at a 24 hour small animal emergency practice as well as owning her own Equine Ambulatory practice from 2005-2011.

Advanced Orthopedic and Soft Tissue Surgery Training 2008

Dr. Stein has been with Banfield since May 2011. She has 3 dogs named Blue, Callie and Badger; 3 cats named Miles, Pinot, and Kayla, 3 fish, and one horse named Joe. Dr. Stein's husband Dr. Justin Uhl is also in the industry and works as a Small Animal Surgeon for the University of Minnesota.

When she is away from the clinic she enjoys kayaking, horseback riding, skiing, and spending time with her husband and daughter, Haley.

Dr. Jennifer Asher

Dr. Asher grew up in South Minneapolis. She went to undergraduate school at Northwestern University in Evanston, IL and majored in mathematics. It was during her junior year that she realized she wanted to become a veterinarian. Dr. Asher went to veterinary school at the University of Wisconsin - Madison and graduated in 2010. She spent her first year after graduating completing a rotating internship in medicine and surgery at Blue Pearl Veterinary Specialists and Emergency in Tampa, FL.

Dr. Asher moved back to Minneapolis in the Summer of 2011 and started working for Banfield. She is excited to be back home and shares her life with her boyfriend, Andhi, 4 cats named Mr. Big, Mecca, Fiona, and Stitch, and 1 cute Chihuahua mix named Dash. She is happy to be a part of the wonderful St. Paul Banfield staff and is looking forward to caring for your pet!

Dr. Asher is currently a member of the Minnesota Veterinary Medical Association. She has special interests in ophthalmology, feline medicine, and internal medicine. During her free time she enjoys knitting, trying new restaurants in the twin cities, and finally having time to read.
