This Banfield Hospital offers the highest standard of medical, surgical and preventive care for your Pet. Our caring staff, innovative approach, and full-service medical facility enable us to consistently provide Pets with the same level of care we want for ourselves.

New clients are warmly welcomed. Our Optimum Wellness Plans provide all the recommended preventative care your Pet needs to live a longer, happier life. Free office visits are included with Wellness Plan membership; you never have to hesitate to bring your Pet in!

This hospital is open from 7 am - 9 pm, seven days a week, to serve your Pet's preventive care and medical needs. We are located on the first floor of the Spruce Tree Center at the corner of University and Snelling. We have covered, validated ramp parking for your comfort and convenience.

Routine blood work, urine and fecal testing, and ear cytology are all performed in house, so you don't have to wait as long for results! We are able to run blood work the same morning as surgery to help make anesthesia as safe as possible for your pet.

St. Paul is one of the only Banfield locations with an ultrasound machine. Just like in human medicine, this assists the doctor in viewing internal organs for any abnormalities.

Dr. Tracey Stein

Dr. Tracey Stein

Dr. Stein graduated from UC Davis with an M.S in Animal Science in 2001 with an emphasis in Equine Reproduction. She continued at UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine graduating in 2004. She completed an equine internship at Loomis Basin Veterinary Hospital. After her internship, she has worked at a mixed animal practice, a small animal general practice and a 24-hour small animal emergency practice as well as owning her own equine ambulatory practice. Dr. Stein has been with Banfield since May 2011. She has 3 dogs named Blue, Callie and Badger; 3 cats named Miles, Pinot, and Kayla; 3 fish and 1 horse named Joe. Dr. Stein's husband, Dr. Justin Uhl works as a Small Animal Surgeon for the University of Minnesota. When she is away from the clinic, she enjoys kayaking, horseback riding, skiing, and spending time with her husband and daughter, Haley.

Dr. Nordaune

Dr. Nordaune

Dr. Nordaune joined the Banfield team in 2014. He recently graduated from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. Prior to Veterinary school, he attended the University of Saint Thomas and attained his Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology and Business. He enjoys the team atmosphere that working at Banfield offers in providing the highest level of healthcare to each client's pet. When Dr. Nordaune is not in the hospital, it's a safe to assume he's outside hiking, fishing or golfing. He enjoys his active home life with his loving wife, three dogs, and two cats.

Dr. John Flaagan

Dr. Flaagan is a 2000 graduate of the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine. His undergraduate training was primarily in Genetics and Cell Biology. He has 14 years experience as a veterinarian. Most of those years are as a general practice veterinarian in the Twin Cities. Five years of his experience as a veterinarian is in a toxicology call center/poison control center. Dr. Flaagan followed my brother into veterinary medicine. He is also a graduate of the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine. In addition, his family has an agricultural background. He spent a lot of time growing up on the farm in northern Minnesota where members of his family still farm. His wife and him currently live in the Como Park area with three Boston Terriers (Doug, Josh, and Daisy).
