Dr. Cara Gardner, DVM

Dr. Gardner is our full time veterinarian with over 10 years of experience in the field. She completed her undergraduate work at Xavier University and continued to The University of Tennessee for veterinary school. After completing school, she worked in the Indianapolis area for many years until returning to the South to join our team at Banfield of Lexington. Dr Gardner is a licensed acupuncturist and performs laser therapy in her spare time. She is a huge Vols fan and can usually be caught on Saturdays wearing her bright orange in the clinic.

Dr. Tanya Thomas, DVM

Dr. Thomas is a South Carolina native who attended Clemson University for her undergraduate degree. She moved next door to Georgia for veterinary school, and upon graduation took a job as an equine veterinarian in Conyers - home to the 1996 equestrian Olympic games. When she got the opportunity to move back home, Dr. Thomas jumped at the chance and started doing small animal relief work for Banfield. When not travelling the state to help other vets be able to take time off, you can find Dr. Thomas working for her equine dentistry practice, Lucknow Equine Veterinary Services. In her otherwise free time, Dr. Thomas likes spending time on the lake with her husband, ski patrolling in North Carolina, showing her horse Duke in three day eventing, or sitting on the deck with her two dogs Gwen and Waylon.
